So downloaded Mailbox.
I love it. It has changed the way I manage mail and brought order to my chaos.
Note, it is only usable for gmail accounts.

Stunt Biker 2 is pretty cool
Impossible Road is surprisingly addictive for a simple game. Not usually my style, but just want one more run ...

Dots is super basic but highly addictive. It links sound and visual design very well.

Just downloaded Stocard...let's just say the first facebook add that actually got me to click. This thing is awesome in eliminating points cards in my wallet (and keeping all my numbers in one spot). I'm assuming i'll have lots of trouble getting stores to actually accept my points this way (especially shoppers drug mart), but we'll see.

Would you really want to hand your phone to a cashier every time you buy something?

Better than having to carry a bunch of different rewards cards in your wallet.
I did find a lot of difficulty in getting stores to actually either a) scan your phone, they think it's some kind of trick or something, like I'm going to hack the store, thanks unrealistic movie representations of computers or b) actually read the phone, a lot of scanners don't read it at all.
Why they can't just store the rewards info and associate it with my payment method I don't know. Though I guess then they'd have to swipe my debit card on the till as well, most rewards cards scan a barcode of some kind.
Then let me substitute my own barcode that they can scan.

I guess given the number of times I've had a cashier drop my debit card, I wouldn't want to trust them with the hand-off. I could also see them having trouble getting it to scan, and as they make an attempt they end up bumping it.
I can also see an issue of waiting for somebody to dig out their phone. The rewards cards are usually in your wallet along with your payment method.
You are correct though; it would be better if the rewards companies allowed you to use your own bar code.

I often had trouble with barcodes getting scanned of of the cardstar app, I'd like to know if this works any better.
Although, I have memorized my airmiles number now, so that I don't have to carry that card.

The game is more like the ps3 version, but still more basic. Really fun for $7
As for the card apps, the stores would need a 3D scanner for it to work, and that is still not that common yet

Been a while, there was some community center that it worked at, I think it worked at M&M, and one of the pet stores I got a membership at when I tried to not kill fish it worked too.
Shoppers was the place where I actually did want it to work but didn't.
Scanning a phone can work well, the scanners in the movie theaters to get tickets seem to work fine, but stores don't have that as a priority when they buy scanners I guess.

Synthesia - for anyone wanting to learn piano. It's a game that tracks your progress and sort of keeps score. The better you get the more songs you unlock.
It's free and very well laid out. Works well on an ipad. Keys are a bit small.
Beats going through a boring book.
