They needed a free safety to replace Goldson, and a TE to replace Delanie Walker. Done and done. Also wanted pass rushers for depth, and got one blue chip and one project with a good motor. Plus, there are already extra picks for next year and 7(!) more picks to go this year.

Holy hell. Check out those arms on Brandon Williams.
Every see a 335/340 pound man walk on his own hands? Brandon Williams can.
Well that certainly shores up the middle quite well. I'm imagining rushers will have a harder time putting up 100 yard games with this monster playing.
His size reminds me of Kelly Gregg. If he is anything like Buddy Lee, we got a steal in 3.

Some odd choices today...
Matt Barkely to philadelphia.....i guess Chip Kelley would know him as well as anyone having coached against him for 4 years, but he seems like such an odd fit for that scheme.
Marcus Lattimore has been taken by the Niners....best RB in the entire draft before he blew up his knee for the 2nd time in his career. Real gamble here but they can afford it with all those picks.
Then GB selects another RB late in the 4th rd taking johnathan Franklin from UCLA...jts seems like a complete "out of left field" selection by Ted Thompson...but i will never doubt his abilities in this aspect of GM'ing.
Solid pickup by SEA getting DT Jesse Williams in the 5th round.
As an aside, the drama queens, that everyone's come to expect from Jets fans, on display here, after the Geno Smith pick.
The fist pump is one thing by #28, though a couple gifs later on in the slideshow, him kissing the guy with the half-football mask, is pathetic for a grown man (let alone a guy 50+ years old), over the pick of a mid 2nd round pick (or any pick, really) selection by their favorite team, no matter how passionate fan you are. Just over the top obnoxious which fits that fanbase pretty good I guess.
Colts trade their 2014 4th to Cleveland to grab Montori Hughes. Anyone know anything about this guy? Unless I hear a lot of good things I hate this move
Love the Broncos draft for the most part. Don't know anything about the lower round kids, save Dysert. Quanteris Smith is a steal in the 5th. Love everything above him too.
Now to sign Brandon Kaufman and Tony Jefferson!

My guys...Tony Jefferson (Arizona) and Brandon Kaufman (Buffalo) were not signed by the Broncos.

Anther unspectacular draft from the Bears but they did hit the positional needs they needed. OL and LB seemed like every pick.
I'm intrigued with 7th round pick marquees Wilson. A top 10 all time receiver in the pac -10 that brings in a lot of off field concerns. He quite his final three games after accusing his coach of abuse, a statement he later recanted.
49ers took chances on a number of value picks. If you were a highly touted talent and required knee surgery in the past 12 months, the 49ers would pick you.
But that is the benefit of having a relatively solid returning roster. Those players aren't expected to come in a contribute immediately. They are being told they are expected to rehab to get to 100%

"We're going to slow things down for him physically," Harbaugh said. "I love his mental approach to it -- the aggressive mental approach that he's taken though this whole process. But we're going to slow the aggressive physical down and make sure Marcus is going to be 100 percent healthy before he's out there on the field. I told him that (and) shared that with his mother (Yolanda Smith).
"If he doesn't play this year, then he doesn't play this year. I think if anybody can overcome what he's been through, it's him."
On another note, undrafted free agent Lawrence Okoye was signed by the 49ers, and he has never taken a snap on the football field in his life.
Quote:
Okoye, 21, was an accomplished rugby player who decided to begin throwing the discus. Two years later, he became the British discus record-holder and placed 12th in the London Olympics.
He has never played football, but Harbaugh said giving him a chance to learn from defensive line coach Jim Tomsula may enable him to become a top-level football player, too.

There was a bit of discussion that since he shares the same last name as The Nigerian Nightmare, he will need a nickname too. I saw "The British Beast"

After thinking it over, I'm very happy with the Falcons draft.
They addressed their weak CB position by moving up to get Trufant (who I'm confident will be a shutdown corner for many years to come). They took Alford who is a good CB and may address our crappy return game.
Dimitroff took care of the holes on defense, so I'm happy. Not only that, the Falcons now have the tallest TE in the NFL in Levine Toilolo who is supposedly a big time red zone threat.
While you can judge about how well your head office attempted to fill areas of need, that is less than half the battle.
We won't know for 3-5 years if the players selected fulfill their promise.
