It reminds me of how they played against the Islanders. They lost their cool and started playing like crap in their own zone. Malkin fighting at the end of the 2nd was a terrible decision. If any one of those goal posts go in, they could ride the momentum to a win but it looked like they gave up after the 2nd period

Boston didn´t even play that well and won. Pitsburgh´s run and gun hockey only works so far.

Interesting how people see the game differently. Sure the Pens had some great chances, but Boston played exactly how they have to if they except to win this series. I think they deserved the win myself.

I thought iggy was pretty invisible tonight, on that note pens fans are getting frustrated with his lack of ice time and being on the 2nd PP.

Almost nothing on the board for Bergeron, Lucic, Marchand, Jagr, Seguin, Peverly...the Pens shock might not have even started yet.

Good lord did Sid ever come off looking like an entitled little weenie in this game. I know he has always been a bit of a diva with the officials, but that was over the top and embarrassing for the best player in the world.
 Loved it.

Really enjoyed the first, second was decent as well but the third stopped being fun to watch. Don't get me wrong I would like to see Boston win but it wasn't even close in the third, it could have been much worse for the Pens. Both teams were bad, the Pens were just outright brutal.
The afternoon game from the west was much more enjoyable to watch.

I agree the Cooke hit was worth 5 and game, but does anyone else think it's bordline ######ed the way players turn their back to hits? And this wasn't even the worst example of it. You see it all the time. Turn your back, throw yourself fowards, get a 2-5 minute PP for your team.
Which is all fine and dandy, until the day you think you're being smart and drawing penalties and the guy hits you a little harder than you were expecting and you end up never walking again.

A couple different bounces in periods 1 and 2 and it is the bruins getting lit up while trying to force plays to get back in it. Pens getting thrown off their game was more a reaction to losing then a cause imo.
They do seem to be a bunch of eadcases sometimes though, and make some lazy ass giveaways + get caught w/ 3 or 4 guys deep wth te bruins leaving the zone.

And iggy... Bylsma finally throw him out on a pp and it just look awkward. They need to work it around the other side first or it is way to predictable the one timer. And then once iggy has it the Bruins player covers the pass to the point and iggy looked frozen, what do i do with it now?

I don't think the Pens have gelled at a team since Crosby came back. Bruins will take the series in 6 games, maybe even 5. I also don't think Bylsma has a handle on the team anymore, this could be his last year.

That was quite the game to watch at the pub. Definately the numbers were 3-1 Pens. It was weird to cheer against Iggy but i gotta go with my team. Pens fans were pretty fired up until the 3rd.Bruins do their job and get game 1 and the now game 2 is on house money.

Cooke should get 5 games but he probably won't just because McQuaid came back. But he should get 3 min. The comment Dreger made on TSN about Cooke's past should not be considered in the hit because dreger said "it wasn't that bad" is just plain stupidity.

No it's not a joke. If the Pens get bounced by the Bruins this year, he need to go. The team is too mentally fragile and Bylsma often gets out coached.

I am not sure how the Pens hitting a couple posts and just missing on some other chances is getting out coached but don't see the Pens losing this series or him getting fired.

Considering Marchand (a guy known for dirty low bridges) did the exact same thing should he get 3-5 also?

it wasn't even close to the same thing. If Crosby would have connected with that Bourque type flybye elbow to Marchands head as he went past him what would have been said by the media etc if he connected.

Marchand got a 2 but it wasn't a hit from behind it was to the side of his shoulder and it was called accordingly roughing because of the proximity to the boards.

McQuaid got run square in the numbers and Cooke had plenty of time to decide exactly what he wanted to do and did it anyways.

Cooke barely touched him and Marchand's hit was just as dirty. Take off your homer glasses.
