Monahan looks great. I am going back and forth between him and Lindholm ... but at the end of the day, I'm just glad that at least one of Monahan, Lindholm and Barkov will be there when we pick at 6. Can't really go wrong with any of those 3. Really excited for this draft ... too bad it's still a month away!

What do you see that makes you think Doan? (not trying to be a **** just asking, because I don't see that comparison at all).
I think Couture is a good comp. And Toews ad Staal. Triangulate them and I think that's a pretty good picture.
When I hear him speak. Very similar attitude and demeanor. Actually even physically as well. Had nothing to do with playing style as one cannot gauge that fully until he is done developing.

Was a STH in the Peg when an 18 year old SD joined the team. Classic example of rushing a kid - took him a few years to recover. But unlike some, he did recover.

How can you say he was 'rushed'??
He's had a fantastic career... Better than most... If say he was handled close to perfectly.

He's far bigger than Couture was or ever will be.
In Couture's draft year he was 5'11 - 185lbs (Sven size)
As I said, he recovered. But just because he worked out ok doesn't mean he was handled perfectly.
First 4 years:
17P
12P
11P
22P
before finally breaking out for 51 pts in his 5th season.
Did you watch him play much in his early years?
You're right, it doesn't necessarily mean it was perfect, but it certainly suggests there weren't many mistakes made... I don't see how his career could have gone much better, so I'll continue to argue that he against him being 'rushed'.
You're saying he 'recovered', whereby those involved would say he was 'developed'.
A little video from Transworld Sport showcasing Lindholms team Brynas. Shows some game highlights in good quality and Lindholm factored into 2 of 3 goals that I noticed. He's gonna be some kind of good. Will be ecstatic if he dons a Flames jersey.

So you have actually seen these guys play, not just on TV to call them non-NHLers? Actually you can't have seen one of them play because you don't know who it is.
Just admit you hate everything about the Flames, their management, their prospects and current players and move on and cheer for the Oilers. Don't bother replying with the patented "Just because I disagree doesn't mean I am not a fan". I actually think you are Ryan Leslie.
Not sure how you got hate the Flames out of that. One of the "guys" I was talking about is the 22nd pick which isn't even a Flames guy yet. Saying that a late 1st and a former 3 rd round pick who is 5'9 and 160 lbs. are not likely to make the NHL has nothing to do with hating the Flames and everything to do with reality.
Either way it doesn't matter because there is no way Bruins are trading a 21 year old center that has scored close to a PPG over the last 100 games and is solid defensively for that package anyways.
Who's the last goalie who was considered a franchise goalie in his draft year, and actually lived up to, or exceeded, the hype? I can't think of one that is noticeably better than others in his draft class.
Carey Price.
As for the Rask trade, it was stupid by TOR but at the time some people thought Raycroft was a great young goalie. Obviously their pro scouting let them down there.

He did win the Calder in 2004 after all.

Roy says they won't trade below 3rd overall maybe 4th if Nashville offers something good:
