At the STH thing on Wednesday, Cyr said they had "300 tickets" cancel.

I am June 24th.
Been a STH for 10 years. Just curious about the people going the prior week - have all of you been STHs for more than 10 years?

If he's a 3 year ticket holder then it's the 27th.

Have you recently been tempted by upgrade opportunities?
June 24 for me, and of the sessions I have attended, I have upgraded once out of 4 times in my price range.

Tickets now since 02-03. June 18 7:30a.
Sooner isn't always better. You get to see the available seats first that were ditched since the end of the year. If ken0042 ditches his 2nd level seats for 1st level ones at 9:00am on June 18, anyone who went in before him doesn't see his become available. Since you can't add seats, in theory, if there were 300 cancellations and always other situations that have seats available, there should be 300+ by the 26th as well, just in different spots. People also don't always upgrade either...they downgrade or move locations to be closer to an exit or have lesser seats on another side of the building.
We have 3 seats, so pretty much screwed for any shifting, since we're not allowed (we would) to add one to get 4 together, or are we allowed to add one, while ditching a single from our group of 3, and split the 4 into 2 pairs.
We had 4 tickets (3+1) for 9 years (with the 1 being beside an acquaintance who was forced by the Flames in 2005 that he had to buy 3, even though he wanted just two, so I helped him out by picking up the extra).
A couple years ago, we had two come up nearby our 3 at this event...I asked if we could move our lone single over, and then buy up another to fill those two (giving us 5)...or, move a single from our 3 and the lone single to fill those two (giving us 4), and flat out denied.
Escalated that a bit and Cyr got in touch with me, and said that after that day, the ticket office supposedly called the people who had tickets adjacent to ours to see if they wanted to buy one of the singles we were ditching but no, and they don't want to let singles be created out of this....found out from those people the next year that they got no such call from Cyr or the Flames, and they would've bought that as a third.
So, we ditched the lone single and are back to 3, and from my acquaintence, it's gone unused since that point.

26TH @ 12:30 for me. First time relocation available for me, but was a "While you wait" PL holder for two years before.
I do have a question for the vets though, how does it work? I understand they take you in in groups and you pick a tagged seat. I was more wondering if it was a sprint to find a seat or can relax a bit?

Dead on. It's just pure luck sometimes. My date is June 17. I'm not too sure but I'm I allowed to go back on the other dates as well?

Why cant this be done online? Been a holder for 7 years and its hard to physically go down every year. Plus, its usually a waste of time.

It's really up to you. If you go right when it opens, I think it's a mad sprint, but if you go an hour or two into the time, it's pretty relaxed.
The thing to keep in mind is they continually update the available seats as people switch, so there's no real advantage to getting there early. Your perfect seat could be there right at 12:30; or it might not become available until 4:00; or it might never become available. There's no way to predict it.
They don't sell new packages that day, so if there's 300 pairs available at 12:30, there will be 300 pairs available at 4:30, they'll just be a different 300 pairs.

Where do you want to move to? That's the big question. If you are looking to get into the first 3 rows of the 300s I would get there 45 mins early with a buddy; and each of you run up to the two 300 levels. There is only ever a handful of seats up there; and I have seen people downgrade to go up there just from a price point.
Greens and Oranges usually have a few options. White seems to have the most options due to the sheer number of seats. Red once again has a few options.
We have moved 3 times in 10 years. Once we didn't actually end up sitting in those seats ever (04-05.) The two significant moves had different strategies. Where we sat from 2005-12 we went early, did the sprint, and just beat another couple. Those were for the aisle seats in 202. The aisle was a double edged sword; we had quick access to beer, going for a smoke, washrooms, etc. However being a main ailse going up to the 300s we had to accept that for 30 seconds after play started we would have people walking up blocking our view.
None of my group smokes anymore, and the days of getting hammered at the Dome are much fewer and further between, so we moved down a few rows and also into the middle of the section. We got those seats by getting there 15 minutes after the relocation started, getting our coffees, and going for a stroll.
