Lindholm, Fucale, and Compher? I could think of worse drafts.

Ian McCoshen seems like the definition of a Weisbrod pick. I would be surprised if we didn't pick him with one of our late firsts.

I'm not a big Mike McCarron fan but he hasn't been brought up as exactly the type of pick Feaster/Weisbrod could make. Wreaks of Hugh Jessiman.

6'0 is decent height but if were looking at most top line centres in this league they are over 6'2.
Staal, Malkin, Thornton, Getzlaf, Kopitar, Carter, Toews etc. are all tall.
Obviously there are shorter centres too (Crosby), but with our lack of size (sven, gaudreau), I think adding a highly ranked center with size wouldn't hurt.
Just my preference.

So would I.
This team is not competing for much in the next 2 to 3 seasons and I would be willing to nullify the KHL flight risk by breaking Nikushkin into the NHL immediately if that is what it would takes to get an elite talent like that.

If the Flames have any sense of how to build a hockey team, they will know that it starts and ends at center ice.
IMO, if they take Nichushkin over Monahan or Lindholm, I will be deeply disappointed even though Nichushkin is a better player.
We need a center. We have needed a #1 center since December 19th, 1995. We have a chance to get one. I hope Feaster understands this.

Of course he understands this. Would he have thrown big money at Richards and O'Reilly if he didn't?

Just out of curiosity. Will us CP'ers be doing a full mock draft game soon?

If Langkow isn't a NO 1 C, then neither is ROR.

I know that ROR isn't a #1 center but Feaster obviously saw him in that light. He wouldn't have thrown over $6 mill at him if he didn't think he was one.

Chris Johnston @reporterchris 4m Steve Yzerman says the #TBLightning won't be trying to pry the No. 1 draft pick from the #avs. He is happy at No. 3.

I am dreaming that the flames somehow fleece the Oilers for the 7th overall pick. Then we can get both Lindholm and Monahan (assuming Nikushkin or Nurse get drafted in the top 5).
To the Oilers
Tanguay and the St. Louis pick.
To the Flames
7th overall.
Why the Flames do this
To draft Monahan and Lindholm. Also to rip the Oilers off.
Why the Oilers do this
I can't come up with anything. Maybe MacTavish was drinking or something.

Another reason for the stupid Oilers to do this trade. MacT and the 2 cup crew said they need to make a big move/splash and trading down 15 spots and taking on another Hemsky is just the splash they need.

These guys are one of the only ones that I have seen with an updated order that has captured just about everything thus far: http://www.mynhldraft.com/NHL-Mock-Draft/
The 1-26 draft picks are all finalized and in the correct order and the Bruin's first round pick has been sent to Dallas as they have fulfilled the conditions of the pick being moved by making it to the Eastern Conference Finals.
I am still not a fan of them "wasting" the Blues pick on a goalie. Rychel would be a much better pick for the Flames at that slot. I also like the blurb about Adam Erne as an option for going after a RW.
I still love the idea of getting Morin with the Pens pick.
