FCAV, Commandant: what do you make of Brendan Harms, RW in the USHL?
Our scouts have obviously spent a lot of time scouting that league, and I've seen Harms could be a mid-late round sleeper. What's his skill set? Playmaker?

Yeah, 3rd/4th round seems to be about where he'll go.
He's a playmaker off the wing, but he's also got a decent shot and release so he can score goals as well. The skating is pretty good (not crazy fast, but not bad) and he's a decent stickhandler. He's also good defensively in the USHL.
Size is average, gets involved on the boards and the front of the net, but not a big hitter. More of a take a hit to make a play guy than the initiator.
He's got a lot of good, but he doesn't wow me in any one area, so its hard to put him too high.
I get wary hearing about big guys who don't like the physical game. At least he skates well.
it said that he was inconsistent with it, I am hoping its a case where he picks his spots rather that just throws the body around all willy nilly and pulling himself out of position

We have Harms at 81 in our final ranking.
Decent size. Needs help with his skating. Great set of mitts and has great vision. Good hockey sense in the opposition's end. Very dynamic when it comes to the offensive game (in the sense of his passing vision and overall creativity - not like 'stickhandle through everyone'). Works hard in his own end.
If he could cure his skating issues, he'd be a lot more impressive.

So if I am reading this right, Sven Andrighetto went undrafted (twice?), is producing great numbers but is also two years? older than other draftees this year so an increase in production is expected.
However he is still expected to go in this draft now as an over ager. Does anyone have any thoughts on this kid? I believe they say he was passed over because of his size and inability to play the body despite being very offensively talented.
Strong outting at the WJ's, great year in the Q (98 points in 53 games).

yup. He already signed a three-year contract with Servette-Geneve in Switzerland, but it has an NHL out clause.
I guess he could be a fourth or fifth round selection this year.

I'm not sure I would use a pick on him. I would rather risk another team picking him and then offering him a UFA contract after the draft.
oh I don't want the Flames to draft him either. He's on the smallish side and we already have enough of those wingers. Plus he certainly isn't the first 20-year-old to put up good numbers, especially in the Q. That being said, I won't be surprised if a team takes him with a pick somewhere between 100 and 200.
Talking about the middle rounds, I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on someone like Anthony Florentino, a "blueline Jankowski" if you want (who coincidentally is also committed to Providence) - http://www.thehockeynews.com/article...g-program.html

I never finished reading and was expecting this to be about Alex Coulombe, a Standstead College defenseman who may also be a decent mid-round pick.
