What a mess. But don't feel sorry for Reynolds one bit.

I do feel bad for my friend who bought a Reynolds jersey.

Not sure if he really wants to wear the jersey of a convicted criminal to Stamps games any more.

That's been my issue too. I have the old school Black and red Jersey and it just has a great fit. The new ones are tapered and kinda Clingy, but I bought a Cote one. The Reynolds one also has some autographs on it. Guess I'll retire it.

Relative to my lifestyle, I'm doing all right. I mean, I could be doing a lot better and have made my share of mistakes and bad financial decisions. They're not deportation and jailtime bad, though. So I feel pretty good about it comparatively. Thanks for asking!

If he made 500k in his 8 year career, that is an average of $62,500 / year.

That is very mediocre. There are receptionists at oil companies downtown pulling that kind of dough. $30 dollars an hour isn't hard to come by in this city. Add that to the fact it was probably back loaded cash, and he made most of it in the last few years of his deal, and probably blew through it trying to act like a baller, and it dries up in a hurry.

And he probably had to maintain two homes in the states and here. CFL salaries are patheticly low for athletes. The only player I remembered that was close to millions was Dave Dickenson. Nonetheless, Reynolds is probably the top 1% of all CFL ballers says a lot about how misery the players got paid.

^ starting qbs get paid between 250 and 500k per year....not bad. the average CFL salary is far more than the average Canadian's salary...problem is they have a much shorter career and serious injuries to deal with

There are post CFL jobs that are available to players, but they have to be smart about it. In conversations with some people in the league, they have stated that players have been able to parlay the contacts built in the league into a job post football career, often in the marketing/PR side of a business. However with a lot of the players they don't go down the same path and instead find themselves being 35-40 years old, with a small, dwindling bank account, injuries, minimal education and little to no transferable skills.

This guy sounds like a total loser though.

I think that goes without saying for any toolbox that beats up women.

CALGARY -- A former all-star running back with the Calgary Stampeders who was convicted of assaulting his girlfriend has been arrested again.
Calgary police say Joffrey Reynolds, who is 33, was taken into custody Tuesday for allegedly breaching the conditions of a no-contact order.
Reynolds had been on bail awaiting sentencing following his conviction in February.

Sentencing hearing is today:

Ian Busby@buzrbe4m
Crown asks for 2-3 years for Joffrey Reynolds on assault conviction

Ian Busby@buzrbe11m
Victim impact statement against J. Reynolds is graphic. "He has an extreme temper and this wasn't the first time he assaulted me" it said

Ian Busby@buzrbe6m
Defence lawyer describes Joffrey's fall from grace, saying his financial trouble and surprise forced retirement caused him to lose his house

Ian Busby@buzrbe2m
Defence argues there was no intent by Reynolds to break in and assault the victim. He asks for no jail time

Geez thats a relatively light sentence considering everything.

Im sure he still has a long road ahead to stay in the country though as immigration will be all over him moving forward.

What a dummy.

this is a felony conviction, there's no chance he's going to be allowed to stay.

Isn't he just serving this on weekends?

His lawyer said it was unlikely he'd be deported

Probably not working for them for long, since Global just announced cops are looking for him tonight, to arrest him, for breaking conditions.
