Breaking Bad has 2 of the top 10 TV characters of all time with Jesse and Saul!
Because none of us were around and saw much black and white TV? I don't know how much voting Cheese, Transplant or Cowperson did.

I love that Bryan Cranston has been a star or guest star on occasion for all of the top 4 shows (including Simpsons and The X-Files).

That episode of X-Files is pretty much the reason Gillian cast him in the role for Breaking Bad.

It was the best episode of season six, and probably a time ten show during the shows run.

Of course he was also in Drive the movie, which was awesome as well.

Seinfeld is actually in HD now on Peachtree and some of the other American networks. The shows were originally shot on 35mm film and were cropped to the 4:3 aspect ratio, so they just un-cropped them.

So is that the next poll? Favourite TV characters ever? That would be pretty tough if you had to limit it to maybe 2 characters a show, especially for the Wire. The Wire has the best cast of characters ever, so choosing only 2 would be impossible. Choosing 5 would be remarkably tough.

I personally would've nominated Have Gun Will Travel, Perry Mason, and Combat in the black and white category. All awesome shows

That would be fun, but very tough to do, as lots of the characters I would pick top 5 or so other people may never have even watched the show they were in, never-mind know if the character was good or not.

btw, top 10 for me would include (no particular order):
- Al Swearengen (Deadwood)
- Titus Bullo (Rome)
- Dexter Morgan (Dexter)
- Jimmy McNulty (The Wire)
- Tyrion Lannister (Game of Thrones)
- George Costanza (Seinfeld)
- John Locke (LOST)
- Carrie Mathison (Homeland)
- Stringer Bell (The Wire)
- Peggy Olson (Mad Men)

My list of characters that I loved to watch.

Al Swearengen(Deadwood)
George Costanza
Tony Soprano
Walter White
Shane Vendrell(The Shield)
Chistopher Moltisanti(Sopranos)
Carmela Soprano
LT John Kavanaugh(The Shield), I've never hated a character so bloody much, but damn that was good TV. Forest Whitaker knocked it out of the park with that performance.

Because the person who came up with the original list of shows could barely conceive of TV before the 80s and it was downhill from there.

Come on, that's not really fair. Hockey did a good job with this thread, and even added people's suggestions to his original list in the first few pages. If there's something you wanted included on the list, you should have suggested it then.
