As I said earlier immigrants was the wrong choice of word
And this type of talk isn't fuelling nationalism. Attacking our country and soldiers is.
It's a lot different in the uk between people from Muslim descent There is a split between British people and British Muslims and Muslim immigrants. We don't mix as well as we do in Canada
Very rarely would you see a group of friends with white Brits and Muslim Brits
Unlike here where you can go to chinook and see a group of friends that are white,Asian, Arab etc etc

scottish flame, you just sit tight and wait few years till multi-kulti fully enriches Canada just like it enriched the UK, these apologists will start singing a different tune
in other news, wonder why no one mentioned multi kulti riots and fires going on in Sweden for the last 3 days (and counting)?

I'm not concerned about immigrants "enriching" our society, we have better immigration standards and we don't treat entire groups of people like garbage. Parts of Europe are a racist cesspool and the lack of integration is largely to blame. There's also the whole, we've invaded their countries and lorded over them when we discovered useful resources.

The comparison is straightforward and easy and was in response to a post about Muslim sectarianism.
Christian sectarianism is rife in N.Ireland and rampant in Scotland also.

This is comical, you guys are claiming some sort of superiority over the lowly Muslims, but you cling to these ridiculous tribal mentalities.

I hope we never end up like Europe because they have serious problems over there. A large part of the cause, I believe, is they allowed the development, over time, of 'enclaves' of cultures. The goal needs to be acceptance but integration. People cannot be allowed to bring their laws to Canadian soil and we need to encourage the diversification of population in all areas. As long as that remains rigid, we should be much better off than Europe.
I think Canadian multiculturalism is off to a much better start than Europe's ever was because it goes back to a more racist time where people didn't find it odd to group people of a certain group into one area.

It's not just a catholic protestant thing, it's a "you occupied my country for 100's of years and left us to eat grass and starve" thing. You don't understand or you wouldn't write it off as something as simple as religious differences.

you just brought up the tribal mentality that is the past also
Many Ulster Scots have lived in Ireland before it was at a civil war, in fact they have been there longer than Canadians have been in Canada. ironic eh?
Should Canada hand back their land to the natives?

uh what? Cole Harbour Nova Scotia had a "black town" where they were forced to live, native reservations, internment of Japanese Canadian citizens, the Komagatamaru, deplorable conditions for Chinese workers on the railway.....I don't know if our start was that great.

I didn't say we never had a racist past. I said our foray into multiculturalism has been better than Europe's.
