This is disgusting... Might be worse than may 3rd. A couple blocks down from me houses are gone. This settles it ... I'm moving to Calgary ASAP!

Is there a website to see where the tornadoes have been or are touching down? Just want to see if it's close to her or not. Maybe she is just busy at work and I'm freaking out for nothing.

Wow, pretty scary down there right now. I hope everyone here is being safe.
Hopefully there are few (or no) deaths.
As for me, I did see a tornado live once, but it was a tiny one. We were camping somewhere near Red Deer, I was young forget exactly where, and on the way up we saw a funnel cloud touch down in a farmers field. Blew a bunch of dust around for maybe 2 minutes then dissipated.
Seen a few funnel clouds too, but that was the only time I saw a tornado.

Let's hope that's the case.
Massive destruction this one caused. Heartbreaking images.

Storm prediction center (google it). Find the reports tab and the day and it will detail the tornadoes.
Saying the path through Moore was almost exactly the same as the one that hit in '99. Thoughts to everybody affected.

Before I turned on CNN all I saw was pictures of the thunderstorms they were having and was about to text her about how jealous I was (I love thunderstorms) of the weather they were having. Glad that text didn't get sent out with what's actually happening!
Well I guess it's just sit and wait. Seems like she should be okay as she lives and works north of where all the action is happening and her family is in Northern OK. Best of luck to all down there and to their family and friends. Frightening thing to deal with.

Amazing. This isn't the first time Moore has been hit since 5/3/99 either.

It's a yearly occurrence. Hearing 2 elementary schools destroyed kids believed to be in the school.

Why wouldn't they close schools down when things like this are going on?

Parents don't have time to get home and pick them up. I don't think you realize how quickly these things spin up . I left work at 1:45pm and there was nothing on the radar. I got to my home in Moore at 2:12 and things had blown up. They are so unpredictable. Schools lock down and try to get kids in the safe rooms. I remember doing weekly tornado drills. Sadly those things don't help when the building is completely demolished.

Moore looks like joplin did. The "blessing" for joplin was that it hit Sunday afternoon so the offices, schools and daycare were empty. Not the case for Moore today. Sounds like this was similar in how slow it moved and it just churned as in joplin. Sad.
Meanwhile I'm in Tulsa and my family in joplin. Going to be long night

75 children in a particular room at one of these demolished schools. 30 have been pulled out alive so far. Hopefully all 75 come out alive. These are prelim reports.
