By now I would hope that you would know that in terms of sexual assault that I have never ever blamed a victim on this board.
She's not a victim.
And by accusing someone of it, and then refusing to go to the police she's actually putting out the wrong message to actual victims out there.

The current edition of VEEP, where the husband of the President of Finland gropes Selina's breast, is quite appropriate viewing to add reference to this debate point.

Last year they got an exclusive interview with Jesus where he gave a shout out to his posse.
It happened really, just like the twin brother.
But wait, lets look at some of the other stories of the day.
Anne Coulter walked out of Star Trek because there were too many minorities in the movie. That could totally be real.
Holy crap, did you know that Chris Brown paid Ariel Castro's bail. Wait that one could totally be real.

It's not? I thought CBC reported that rob ford was born a conjoined twin and that his brother was thought to carry the evil twin gene because he was on the left side and was kept a secret from society but it was rob who actually carried the evil twin gene and thats why he was allegedly smoking crack cocaine with Somali drug dealers. Hmm guess I didn't pay enough attention

n a press conference yesterday Ford called the crack video accusations "ridiculous" but offered little in the way explanation. And today's twin brother defense is failing to quell skeptics, since no record of such a person actually exists.
|
I've heard the reason there is no record of Ford's evil twin brother is because he's been chained up in the basement since a toddler. Now that he's escaped, he's causing Ford all kinds of trouble.

I dunno about the rest of you, but I highly support Rob Ford. He is the most entertaining political figure in years. I look forward to a good ol' Rob Ford story; you won't be dissappointed! High enterainment value, and he looks like an evil video game character!
Besides, we need someone to fill the three-ring circus with comedy while the Oilers wait for next season.
As a non-resident of Toronto, this man is better than Comedy Central. And it's all free!

I moved to Calgary in 2001, so I never saw him in action, but with all the substance/drug and alcohol abuse and hanging out with shady people allegations, is Rob Ford to Toronto what Ralph Klein was to Calgary?
I'm not politically savvy at all, but did the rest of the country laugh at Ralph the way we laugh at Ford?

No. Not even close. Klein was one of the best mayor's we ever had, and he was very sharp guy.

Klein had a drinking problem and sometimes associated with what wouldn't be considered the finest class of people but that helped make him a populous politician.

Not even a close comparison, and Ralph was probably one of the most respected mayors across the country when he was here, especially with the work he did on the Olympics.
Ralph had a drinking problem, but he wasn't a buffoon.

Haha, well I do believe the Palin thing was real. She did confuse Chechnya with the Czech Republic. But yeah, obviously the Pope didn't come out as gay.

Do you actually believe that's why liberals fight with conservatives?
Even a lot of liberals want their government to be fiscally conservative. The big arguments usually circle around social issues and conservative government often appearing to pander to big corporations at the expense of the working public.
The whole 'conservative governments spend less than liberal governments' isn't close to true and hasn't been a real difference in like 50 years.
Bush grew government more than any other in the US's modern history. Chretien and Martin actually shrank it to a small degree. Klein balanced the budget, and Redford is spending like a drunk sailor. Same party. There are good and bad politicians on both sides when it comes to the issue of spending.
People who think they know about politics really need to realize they are operating on 50 year old ideas when it comes to this whole conservative equals small responsible government tag line. It is easily the most parroted incorrect statement in politics. You can't even say, 'well, on average' to back it up anymore, cause it just ain't true.
Most parties spend way too much, and there is no real difference anymore between these old notions of party policies when it comes to spending.
Back to the issue at hand, I do think it's time for the video to come out. But I can see why people are acting the way they are. It does look pretty bad, and in this day and age, everyone likes a scandal.

That is a very good point. I'll also add that every woman that DOES lie about this kinda stuff, and yes, there are more than a few, makes it hard on the ones that it does happen to. They're basically throwing legitimate abuse victims under the bus.
People do need to listen to and support women (and men) on this issue, and women like this just make it tougher.

Klein generally had a steady list of accomplishments/achievements as he moved along, the quirkiness easily buried by his record. He earned his popularity through deeds.
I'm not exactly following Toronto politics but I haven't seen anything to suggest that Ford is anything more than the typical buffoon we occasionally elect to spite ourselves.

At this point, I'm almost hoping that they reach the goal get the video and when it comes time to see Ford taking a puff of the crack pipe the video is replaced with Rick Astley.
Either way Ford is probably finished as mayor. But the video better be true or the next job he'll have is editor in chief of the Star.
