LONDON -- The Premier League says Aston Villa's stadium will host the playoff for third place between Arsenal and Chelsea if they finish level on points, goal difference and goals scored.

The match at Villa Park would take place on May 26, the day after the Champions League final in London and a week after the last round of matches in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger has denied reports suggesting Arsenal have approached Manchester United with a view to signing want-away striker Wayne Rooney.

Thankfully Arsene is denying it. Don't think I could cheer for him in a Gooners shirt. While I appreciate it would be a nice signal of intent, I'd strongly prefer just about anyone else.

Arsenal have a buy back clause firstly

and secondly I think Man United won't be able to buy any big players until Moyes proves he can win something, unless they pay silly wages like City/Chelsea which doesn't seem likely

I think they'll buy Fellaini ... the things he said yesterday are a pretty strong indication that Old Trafford will be his destination.

If I’m leaving Everton, I say if, it will depend on lots of factors. I only want to go to a club where the manager really wants me. In 2008, Everton did everything to convince me, especially David Moyes. He made me the player I am now.

I’m happy with my season, although I didn’t play in my best position. I’m not a number 10. David Moyes predicts my future as a defensive midfielder, but due to a lack of offensive power, he plays me up front. In the future I want to play as a six or an eight. From there, I can create danger and score goals.

That's exactly the position where United need help, plus he could continue to work with Moyes. Win-win for both sides.

Spurs haven't gotten 1 penalty this season

and the last 3/4 Bale 'dives' have all been clear fouls

embarrassing for the ref if that ends up being the difference today

I don't feel sorry for Cornelius. You can't flop around like he does and expect the match officials not to be suspicious and rightly so. It takes a short amount of time to garner a reputation and an entire career to be rid of it.

I would think it needs to be quicker, his last 4 or 5 starting with the Fulham game, and going on to the Sunderland game (where he actually got the yellow that suspended him) haven't been dives

Suarez doesn't get the yellows as much and he's by far the worst (although to be fair he barely plays now...)

highest ever points total in PL history for Spurs, that amount would have made CL every other season, in what was effectively a transition season (losing Modric, VDV, and effectively Kaboul)

AVB seems to be a huge draw for a lot of players (Lloris and Vertonghen said it) so I don't think missing CL hurts that, and with a full season with AVB and him bringing in players for his system I think they can get even more points next season

Yeah, not disappointed in AVB but I don't see how letting the leads on both Chelsea and Arsenal evaporate can't be seen as disappointing.
