I hadn't heard that description before, but I immediately knew what taste you're talking about. And then it occurred that the only reason I know what copper tastes like is because at various times during my childhood I must have stuck a penny in my mouth. And then I sadly realized that future generations won't have that reference and will not be able to describe blood as having a copper taste. And then I realized that when my kid asks me about pennies years from now, I can cryptically answer that they tasted like blood.
