Nothing at the base of what Healy said was incorrect. Iggy had a bad game and it was negatively impacting the line he was on.
Personally, it's the way Healy attempts to get his message across that is irksome.

Haha I think the day Iginla was dealt, you were saying Iginla can finally get the respect he deserves from Pens fans.
I guess nobody deserves Iginla then...

Iginla is tied for 3rd for playoff points with games in hand against the two players above him, Chara and Brassard. His linemate, Evgeni Malkin, is in 2nd place for points, and most of his goals are from passes made by Iginla. Numbers don't lie people. But we do.

Karlson looked pretty awful there. Despite that, beauty goal by Crosby.

I wouldn't have Karlsson out against Crosby if I was MacLean. Sid is gonna dominate that battle in the Ottawa zone every time.

Pretty sad that Jussi Jokinen (a healthy scratch tonight) is better than any center currently on the Flames.

Absolutely, but he won't have much of a choice. Beyond not having last-change, Karlsson will log massive minutes as he's the only real game breaker Ottawa has. Maclean is likely thinking that his team deafence plus goalie will be enough to offset that matchup. In that case, he was wrong.

Boy, Ottawa looked bad out there. Real bad. Could be the mental hurdle of playing the Pens is too much for this young team. They are certainly not as bad as that period would indicate.

Who's better than him then? Backlund is still pretty unproven, and hasn't shown he's a capable center on the top two lines yet. Hudler is better than Backlund today, but he's a very similar player to Jokinen, with worse career numbers as of now. Jokinen is obviously dynamite in the shooutout as well, something we are missing in Calgary.
Not counting Camalleri as a center of course, since he's not a natural center.

Lol... Don Cherry: "the guys are hot."
I know what he meant. It was Ron pointing it out that was funny.

I don't think Jokinen is a centre. Or at least, if he is, it is in the same way that squid is. That could be what he meant.

Good point, but he's been playing at center on the Pens, and has spent years playing at center before. The Hurricanes moved him to the wing a couple years ago: http://www.shutdownline.com/hurrican...n-to-wing.html
He also was the Hurricanes best face-off man (55.1 winning percentage last year, 59.4% this year in Carolina), another thing the Flames are miserable at.

Backlund's better. Jokinen was a waiver wire guy just a month ago, and there is a reason he's a healthy scratch again .
And well yeah, no crap Jokinen has had better career numbers up until now. One guy just turning 24 and one guy being 30 might have to do with that.

He was a waiver wire guy because of his salary mostly, as Carolina needed to cut their payroll, and also had too many centers on their roster. Most analysts were stunned that Jokinen was had for so cheap, but that's the case of many players in similar positions (Kristian Huselius for example).
Sure Backlund is only 24, but Jokinen had 55 points in his rookie year at the age of 22.
Backlund should be the better player eventually (hopefully), but today Jokinen is the better player no doubt.
