Good stuff. I had it on and didn't even know it was there, had to look real close. Having the Real Dark Slim on makes it tough to see some things but overall looks much nicer.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Galakanokis for getting me started. Rooted my phone about 10 days ago and then flashed the Slim Bean ROM this weekend. Really enjoying it, thanks.

Yup, agreed. I really like the Real Dark Slim on as well. I'm a little disappointed. I like this ROM so much that I doubt I will flash anymore...just when I started to feel comfortable doing it...lol.

What is the difference between the Real Dark Slim, and just normal SlimBean.

Um, it's dark.
Just large images...
Screen shots don't do it justice, but the lighter one is much more gray, while the darker one is much more black.

They really do make it easy to flash other ROMs though. I highly recommend Titanium Backup. With it you can not only do all of your apps with data but all of you wifi access points and accounts, basically anything on your phone.
So I wipe, flash new ROM/kernel, add main google account and download Titanium. Restore apps with data, restore wifi and restore accounts reboot and done. Maybe 5 or 10 minutes depending on how many apps you have to restore. Finding the account restore was a godsend.
With Nandroids you can take a complete backup of your current setup and flash back to it anytime you don't like the new setup. Also helps to keep a copy on a PC or two with the toolkit handy just incase.

It should make all settings, text, phone, contacts and gapps/now dark/black. I can't seem to get the Slim Google Now to load but not a big deal.

I do essentially the same thing with Helium. It does a great job as well and I think is easier to use that TB.

I use Carbon (now called Helium), and it works fine.
There was a time when it didn't do all the things TiBu did, but I think that gap has been closed in the past couple updates.

I love/loved my captivate. Damn thing is still running strong even let the 4 year play games on it.
I really like the S3. I had the Galaxy Nexus before this and thought it was a great phone but I believe the S3 is better. Very nice feel, screen is great and the performance/battery ratio is not bad at all, better than my Nexus which I thought was pretty good.
It's a nice phone.

Might have to give Helium a try now as I cannot run root and don't need root to run the apps back up. Can't get my corporate email to sync with root. I got it to work on my Nexus but can't get it on the S3.

Without root you need to install Carbon/Helium on your desktop as well and enable backup that way (connecting to the computer - Helium) each time. It's a bit of a pain, but as long as you have the proper drivers installed, it's not a big deal.
Easier to backup with root, but it can be done without.

So I'm having a bit of an odd issue. I loaded up Slim and really like it, however now my phone vibrates when I get a new email message. I went into Gmail and turned off "vibrate" under notifications, but it still does it. Was able to disable it before on Samsung stock, but no dice on Slim. Is this just Gmail acting up, or is it Slim?

I have a question about Slim.
I want to add other email accounts and read that I need to install an "Add on" to do that. I have the add on, but I haven't, as of yet, been able to find how to install the Add on...
My question is, is it as simple as rebooting into recovery and installing? Or does a guy need to wipe everything out and do a fresh install of the RoM, gapps, and the Add on? If it's the first option should I still wipe the cache and delvik prior to the upgrade?
Thanks in advance.

To load the stock email client to add yahoo/shaw/telus accounts you just need to download the addon from Slim and install it in recovery like any ROM or kernel but minus any wipes. Just a straight install. You could also use apps from the store like K9 or Air Email (i think). But the flash install is pretty easy.

I think you have to uncheck Vibrate when ringing under sounds. I know it looks like just a phone call thing but I believe it is universal.
I think I am out to lunch on that setting above. Do you have Vib/Sound as the sound state?

Or install a vibrate app that can control vibration for different notifications.
As for the email thing, I highly recommend K9 mail. I think it works rather well.

Yeah, I had the notification sound set as default but had put the phone on silent and still had "vibrate when ringing" enabled. Changed the notification tone to silent and that got rid of it.
