It is too bad it didn't work out, but it is hardly the end of the world. Didn't cost alot, didn't trade anything for him and now we have a roster spot open for someone else.
Who knows how it would have gone if he would have been able to come over here for a full year, without a blood condition.
He seemed too pouty from the get-go. For a small guy with conditioning issues and health problems that were out of his hands, I expected a little more hunger when he was in the lineup.
Oh well. Good year to try it out.

Kinda disappointing. Hopefully our scouts learn from this.
What are you hoping they learn from this? They brought in a low risk, high reward potential player at a time when there was no opportunity cost to do so for this franchise. Pretty sure they new exactly what they were doing and what the most likely result would be.

He's referring to bringing him in as a center and later learning about his preference to play wing.

I wonder what would have happened if he signed with Dallas and played with Jagr, or Montreal and played with Plekanec, two guys he has really clicked with at the international level. Also he should have been a full time LW like he was on that line IMO.

Agreed, with the caveat that it would be kinda nice when they are publicly touting him as a top 2 line centerman.... that he can actually play the position in the NHL.
Seeing how this whole situation turned out i think this will make the Flames iffy on taking Nichushkin.
I doubt this situation will have any bearing at all on the Nichushkin discussion. If Cervenka had come in, played hard, gritty, and both ends of the ice he would have been re-signed before the season ended.
