If we list the teams out in their draft order this should be very easy to see, not? With Washington bowing out last night, they are automatically drafting later in the round than the St. Louis pick, are they not? If Toronto had won last night, Boston would also have been ranked higher than the St. Louis pick, thus picking later too. That scenario had Toronto not choked should have guaranteed the St. Louis pick was 2 spots better not just one. Or am I missing something here.

You don't re-seed after the first round... you do it after the second round.
The first and second round losers are all ranked according to points, not by which round they lost in.
Only the final four teams are pushed to the back of the draft order 27-30

I see you guys are all in here now and the draft thread on the prospects board is dying.
Anyways, number 34 was released this morning in the ranks and scouting reports. Jacob de la Rose fromw Sweden. Big forward who loves to hit.

Right about where we would pick in the second round.
This year that second round pick is about as valuable as a late first round pick.
Of course we traded that pick for Cammalleri.
I suppose we can't trade him for equivalent back now can we ?
Has that loss been properly grieved around here ?
Return for Iginla pretty well equal to what we gave up to get Cammalleri = GM fail

Iginla has no contract beyond July... Can't make a comparison to the Cammallari trade.

Would you mind posting these in FC's thread as well? It will be much easier to keep track of in there...

So where does that leave the Montreal pick?
@ #24?
Assuming the Blues pick can drop down to #21 is there a possibility for a trade with the Canadiens?
#21 and #29 (assuming Hawks beat Penguins)
for #24, #34, #36, #57.
Extra two picks.
#6 - Lindholm / Monahan
#24 - Zykov / Mantha
#34 - Mueller / Morin
#36 - Gauthier / Petan
#57 - De La Rose / Lodge / Roy
#67 - Cammarata / Heatherington

From Button's list:
62. Taylor Cammarata 64 Waterloo (USHL) May 13/95
C/LW L 5'7/156 57 36 54 90
I think that Buttons list is the only place that lists Cammarata in the top 100.
Really hard to find information on him and yet he has really good numbers.
Similar stature to Gaudreau.
Worth taking a look at with the 3rd round pick? or risk him dropping down into the fourth round?

One should factor in the other pieces in the deal - Holland and Ramo. The latter could still prove to be a big part of that transaction.

I would suppport trading down the Pitt pick, if there looked to be a number of interesting alternatives. I think Montreal would be an excellent counterpart, given their multiple second rounders. Not so sure I want to give up the St. Louis pick though, I think it might be needed for Gauthier/Zykov/Mantha. Like your thinking though.

Just scrolled to the end so this may have been posted, but Corey Pronman released his reports on 11-15.
11. Nurse
12. Pulock
13. Burakowsky
14. Horvat
15. Wennberg

With 4 divisions winners knocked out so far that would leave the Blues picks 22nd at worst.
AND since one of LA/SJ will make the final 4 and jump over them, it means it is actually 21st at worst. I suppose they could move up some more if DET, OTT, or NYR make the final 4 as well.
PIT pick will be anywhere from 25-30

Actaully I don't think 21 is guaranteed....since the LA/SJ winner will just be one of the top 4...it wont push the Blues pick down.....
so 22 is guaranteed at the moment.

That 22nd already takes into account the LA/SJ series. The only three series that have any outcome on our pick are the:
Det/Chi
PIt/Ott
NYR/Bos
Each of those series that goes our way we move up one.

The bold part is wrong. The fact that one of San Jose and Los Angeles will pass the Blues in the draft order has already been accounted for, and including that fact the Blues pick currently sits at 22nd overall.
In no particular order, the following teams first round pick will be after the Blues pick no matter what:
(Remember, the bracket number is just for reference, and is in no particular order)
1. Chicago (30)
2. Pittsburgh (29)
3. Montreal (28)
4. Washington (27)
5. Vancouver (26)
6. Anaheim (25)
7. Boston (24)
8. One of San Jose or Los Angeles (23) (Winner of their 2nd round series)
9. BLUES PICK (22)
The only other teams that can move past the Blues pick pushing it further up in the draft order are:
Ottawa
NY Rangers
Detroit
If those three teams win their 2nd round series, the Blues pick will slide up to 19th overall.

Calgary Flames @NHLFlames 6m
#NHLDraft prospects Aleksander Barkov & Darnell Nurse will sit out of the fitness portion of the #NHL Combine ~ http://cflam.es/17qzGV1
Will it drop their stock? I don't think it drops Barkov's but could Nurse's.

Horvat, Rychel, Gauthier, Zykov, Mantha, Lazar all strike me as players that I would be happy to end up with when the Blues pick comes around. I would also be willing to look at Hagg or dip for Morin depending on where the Pens pick ends up.

Hopefully the Flames staff is on the ball this draft.
Would be nice to walk away with a prospect that's better than "Baertschi level" and two more that are pretty much "Baertschi level".
What a shot in the arm that'll be to our prospect pool.
...not to mention the 6 other picks we have in rounds 3-7.
