The Sedin one was way more obvious and dangerous looking. If the Leafs player turned to face the boards before getting hit it would have been an easy call for the refs.

Yikes. I wouldn't wish that kind of meltdown on any teams fans but the Canucks or Habs. That must have hurt real bad. Ouch.

Well, it's a relief I don't have to cheer for the Leafs anymore. I felt kind of ashamed about it.

Oh, and Phaneuf is so useless it's almost comical. Every player has that iconic image that captures his style of play. Phaneuf's is standing in the crease staring at the puck in his net, as though he hasn't the foggiest idea how it happened and what he was supposed to do about it.

Myth.

The Phaneuf factoid is interesting though

For the Van fans trying to make this a Sedin topic on a Bruins T.O thread.

Yeah and the fact that the nhl call penalties also based on the outcome and in this case nothing happened to the player. Probably would have gotten a call if he had made a nice dive and stayed down instead of getting up right away.

Anyhow, Leafs blew it big time and blaming the refs should be the last thing they do. Allowed 4 goals in 15 minutes? Epic choke.

This would be an achievment on XBox/PS3 score 2 goals on allstar with the goalie pulled and win in OT!

I agree its a penalty.

Buts that not what your are arguing. You are saying that call cost them the series. It did not. It was one missed call amoung many in the whole series.

Aside from most (but not all) rookies, I can't recall seeing a defenceman as clueless in his own end. It's like he literally has no idea what his assignment is. The guy has terrible hockey IQ, and is a defensive liability.

This is as big of a meltdown by TO as it is a miracle comeback win for the Bruins.

If the Bruins had played this series the way they are capable it would have been over in 5-6 games. But man it was incredible watching that comeback, I haven't been that pumped during a game since 2011.

Deadspin has the Jack Edwards call in OT plus reaction from Maple Leafs square.
