I haven't seen all the periods but from what I have seen he has looked average to bad. He has looked bad on a couple of goals against and thrown the puck away for no reason more often than he should (but all of the Canadians have.) He looks to be struggling with the big ice and positioning. I haven't seen many (any?) good plays from him either. But Harrison and Schultz have also struggled with Harrison having some better moments to put him ahead of Brodie in my mind. I would think with Hamhuis and Subban coming if they want to go for the win no reason for any of Harrison, Schultz or Brodie to play in the play-off rounds.

Eberle couldn't finish either. All the Oilers pulling through like the winners they are.

He looks out of his comfort zone. Hesitant on passes and doesn't rush much, though as the seventh defenseman I can understand why he wouldn't. He seems a little weak too

Well with the 'quotations' on elite, there was more than a little hint there I think...
Besides, when you think about it, a lot of things shouldn't happen. Too many men shouldn't really happen either, or those crazy bouncy goals from midice, or players stumbling on their own legs...

I think we all know it happens, but I took it as it seems bush league but still happens.
I've been frustrated for years watching players who are the best at their sport miss the f'n net, yet here we are

to be fair, it's really a foreign concept to any player from Edmonton to be playing meaningful hockey in May. This is time usually spent planning thier draft party.

Dubnyk was bad today, his handling the puck, gave it away multiple times right on the tape of Slovenia players. He was very lucky none of them turned into goals against.
Dillon was the only Canadian D man that looked really good today. Brodie was likely the second best Dman although that's not really saying much considering the rest looked pretty awful. Certainly didn't look out of place today however, had a few very strong plays with the puck that set up a few really good scoring chances.
Honestly don't know what they can do with this mess of defense going forward. Subban will get big minutes obviously, Dillon should see big minutes. Robidas looks alright most games as long as he isn't playing top minutes. He has way too many turnovers when the pressure is on. Schenn has looked decent enough all tournament.
Beyond that you have Brodie, so far in limited minutes per game he has looked average, far from the worst but overall not with that top group. Canada's fastest and most mobile Dman, arguably the best puck moving one as well. Has made a few mistakes but again, nearly all of the Dmen have made a few. Harrison hasn't been bad, hasn't been good. Just looks like a decent bottom pairing Dman. Cambell has been pretty bad for most of the tournament, and since he has been used the last few games as a PP specialist for the most part, I suspect that his roll is now obsolete with Subban joining the team. He has flashes of brilliance, pinching at the right times to make a play but he has just as many boneheaded plays as well. Schultz... he has been by far Canada's worst Dman all tournament and how he continues to get ice time is simply jaw dropping. Once the play leaves the oppositions end he becomes a cross between a pylon and someone that has never heard of the game of hockey before. Totally lost and clueless in his own end.
Not sure who of the "B group" will get the nod going forward as none of them have stood out above the rest.
Goaltending, Smith should get the start going forward. He's been better all tournament and today Dubnyk looked pretty shaky.

Just watched the highlites on Calgaryflames.com. Listen to the announcer. Even the broadcasters don't care about this tournament. Sounds like they got the soccer guy to do the PxP.

Naw, the hockey net is small. It's TRULY amazing when players who are among the best at their sport miss a target the size of a soccer net. I've seen it done from less than two feet out. I couldn't miss from that distance if I tried.

It really is a rather sad display by everyone involved. From the players using it as little more than a platform to show off in some cases to the announcers sounding half asleep most of the time.
The only reason I personally watch is to see TJ, if it wasn't for him or if he winds up being cut since Subban is heading over I won't be watching.

I wonder if the players go out and get hammered before nothing games like these where there is literally nothing to play for?
Wouldn't surprise me.

This entire tournament seems like a fun vacation to these guys. I think the only person who ever took it that seriously was Ryan Smyth.
