video doesn't show how the pen was won but it was a dive
par for the course in the championship this season
That was pure justice last night. Although if Albion get past Palace, I'll be sh*tting bricks over the prospect of Watford. The last team to turn over Brighton at the Amex.
It's been a fantastic season in the Championship this year.
That finish for Watford was astounding. What an amazing turn of events talk about telling the ref to stick it on a weak call with style. Just Amazing!!!
I would have never thought last night's scoreline was possible. Nothing pointed to that. Nothing. Only team to win at the Amex in 2013 was Arsenal in the FA Cup.. Very surprised at the result.
SKy commentator said when Barnes flicked onto the crossbar that "if Crystal Palace go to Wembley, surely this was the moment they'll look back on." He was right.
Things just got incredible strange on the south coast this morning. Brighton have suspended Gus in the wake of his comments post playoff loss to Palace. He's said some odd things and engaged in some odd behaviours recently. Apparently he refused to deal with the club's retained list stating that they weren't his players anymore. His assistants were suspended as well and told not to have any contact with the playing staff.
Apparently Gus was not happy with the appointment of Paul Barber as Chief Executive. Barber was on the board at Spurs when Gus was canned along with Juande Ramos.
We all knew that Gus wants to manage at the highest level, but his actions as of late are very puzzling. I read a quote by a Brighton fan that said, "Best manager since Mullery, worst exit since Clough." I could not agree more with that.
I was reading something about him replacing Jol at Fulham the other day. Apparently Jol is in a somewhat similar situation at Fulham where he is now sure he likes the directors and has the same vision and backing going forward. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Quote:
The nagging question regarding Jol concerns his continued appetite to work within the financial strictures at Fulham and, related to that, whether he would be open to a better offer from elsewhere. He has admirers in Germany's Bundesliga, where he previously worked at Hamburg. Following on from that is whether Fulham ought to put contingencies in place. Poyet, who appears ready for a move from Brighton & Hove Albion, has attracted attention from members of the Craven Cottage board

No it isn't. In fact lots of people are convinced that Gus has been involved in a "tapping up" scenario, with Fulham as the most likely of culprits. He's been suspended as opposed to fired because he'd be given a severance package if he's canned and the tapping up club would not have to pay compensation which is believed to be £2.5 million. I think that this will all come out in the wash shortly. It's been a very strange week for the Albion, very strange.

Well that sucked, the playoff curse continues. Almost at Preston levels

Well, if Brighton personnel will engage in disgusting behaviour such as leaving excrement on the floor of the vistors dressing room then it might serve as motivation for the opposition. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...fuming-1896184
Poyet probably can't get away from that gongshow fast enough.
Quote:
"Did they imagine that this would affect the Crystal Palace players? Well possibly it did. It may just have fired them up more. "Well someone made a very bad decision and I think it is time to stand up and take responsibility. Not just the culprit but those employees who are supposed to make our stadium safe and secure."
Poyet also took aim at the club's policy to distribute paper clappers to the home fans for the Palace clash.
According to The Sun, he wrote: "It was an extremely silly idea and the result was an annoying noise."

Looks like someone beat you to it!
Stay classy Brighton. They'll be some great chants directed your way next season.
