As for the after show, is anyone else surprised they didnt interview more players or even talk to them?
Yeah, I was a little surprised at that. I mean they gave more airtime to people from Survivor: Borneo then they did to anyone this season. Scuttlebut has it that Gervase is going to be back for Blood vs. Water so I kind of understand why they featured him so prominantly in the first season retrospective (remind people of who the guy is) but why so much time on Rudy and Hatch?
Ya that was odd, I was hoping they would interview Shamar and he could make a further fool of himself, or get him to defend his actions out there.
Overall I think that was a good season, one of the more entertaining out of the last 5. Glad to see Cochrane win and gain a little swagger, I don't think I realized how crippling his social disorders were until he put it all out there. That takes a lot of guts to do, and to accept it and own it, very happy for him and proof that Survivor really is an amazing show on more than one level.
Final tribal went pretty much exactly as I predicted 4 or 5 episods ago, except Dawn was able to keep her emotions reigned in for the most part, I was very surprised by that. Watching Sherri get torn up and still just either in denial or oblivious to the fact that she was dragged there had me laughing pretty hard.
I don't think Brenda was still as bitter as people think, I believe CBS was just trying to amp that up even more for the drama and because as Jeff said it was the number one asked question. Dawn was pretty quick to apologize and Brenda was even quicker to accept and call her a friend again..
I think we will see Reynold again in some future Survivor, but that is about it from this show for fans.

Also, I believe the reason we got such a great final jury is because it was majority returning players, and the Fans that were left were among the hard core. You need people that actually appreciate the game for what it is, and most people on the first play through don't grasp that and just vote out of spite. I think this is one of the reasons why Probst has said they will bring back returning players as often as they can.

Overall it was a pretty satisfying season. The right guy won and the jury was actually pretty reasonable and saw things fairly objectively rather than letting petty jealousy and hurt feelings run rampant. The Brenda vs. Dawn thing was kinda ugly to watch though... I don't know why Dawn capitulated anyway. She wasn't getting Brenda's vote, why bow down to that ridiculous request? And I'm not sure it made Brenda feel better.
I know there are probably rumours and spoilers out there about what the next season is all about. The hints pointed pretty strongly at families being involved. But the accompanying music seemed to be sort of a Middle Eastern theme... that would be an interesting place to go, especially if they're starting filming right away as Jeff said, it's pretty hot there now!

I think they need to change the local from the island jungle settings and try to find some new spots. Maybe move it to a mountain top or a desert location or whatever. I know that girls in bikini's in water is a great look but its starting to stagnate.
I do like the idea of family versus family especially when it comes time to blind side a family member.

So the rumour among the internets is Returnees vs Family... for season 27.
I've put the list of rumored returnees in a spoiler tag:
AVOID IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE RUMORED LIST AND!
There is also some pre game shenanigans that I put in a spoiler tag within the spoiler.
Spoiler!
Stephanie
Terry
Gervais
Natalie (not sure which one)
RC
Kat (there you go CC)
Aras
Tyson
Rob Cesternino
Nicole Delma
I had to google quite a few of these names, I missed Aras season apparently.. I remember enough of them though to like this returning list over the previous season. Should be a lot of drama with this group.
Rumored pre game antics:
Spoiler!
Apparently this Rob has a pod cast and is very close with Aras and Tyson (they are on the show often) and it is said he has already been phoning returnees to set up pre game alliances including Kat and RC who have been on his show.. which is apparently the same thing Dawn and Cochrane did.
At this point I won't be doing any more googling as before I was able to accidentally stumble upon the correct order of the final 10 eliminations.. even more googling after that gave me even more lists that were incorrect, but the following information was taken from the same source who called season 26 to a tee.

Rumor has it Branden Hantz was banned from the building last night. I suspect that was the reason to not include the pre-jurer members on stage in order to cover up for his absence.
As to the rumors for next season, I like the idea but we'll see how they do the execution. The name in Green Lanterns second spoiler announced last night via podcast that he and wife are expecting so it should be interesting to see if he'll still be involved.
Well my understanding is that season 27 would have already been filmed? Or do they only do it back to back like that in the fall/winter?

I'm pretty sure Jeff said last night that he would be leaving in the next few days to start filming the one that will air in September, so if the spoilers are true, somebody has invented time travel! Or more simply, I heard wrong or misunderstood...
Well nothing in the spoilers talks about anything that happens during the game, just the speculated roster and how these speculated people are acting PRE GAME .. so that is all good to go.
I figured they hadn't filmed yet because if they did there would be a lot more spoilers out there. The guy who pegged season 26 start to finish did it before the first episode even aired. I will check his predictions again after season 27 finishes, but evidently he has a source that works on the set.. as he would see who was at each tribal council.

Nothing on Eric's injury
Nothing on Eddie
Nothing on sheri
Same for Michael.
Nothing on any of the others who were voted out pre jury
Normally they check in and see how they are doing. That struck me as odd.
Also, was Hantz even there?
I was pretty disappointed in the "reunion" show as a whole, honestly. I kept watching thinking that they'd actually talk to the survivors about interesting things...and they barely talked to them at all. Had I known that, I probably wouldn't have bothered watching in the first place.
Would have liked it to be asked if Eddie wins it if he makes the final 3. Even if we know the answer, just to get a sense of which of the jury members can separate game play with friendship.
And Brenda being pregnant, any chance she was during her time on the island? I know that they filmed back-to-back with the last one so it has been some time since she would have left the island but I also remember the Ponderosa video with the weigh-in and her commenting that she didn't lose much weight.
She is due any day now Probst said, that would make her pregnant right around August.. does that add up?

Brandon was banned from the reunion. Russel went on twitter and threatened Phillip so they closed the set. The non-jury members didn't know about not being on stage until the dress rehearsal, and from what I read, they weren't too happy about it.
^^^I would think that has to be it for the Hantz's? The only way they get back is if they do a super villain show with the worst of the worst. Maybe that will be the first one where the winner is the last one actually standing.
