Matt Cooke has actually seemed like a pretty stand up guy for the last little while. Go Penguins Go. You guys should all probably just start cheering for the Penguins instead of the Flames. Believe it or not.. good hockey teams are more fun to watch than bad hockey teams.

I would way rather watch my team struggle and work hard to compete again rather than cheering for a team that won the rigged lottery for the best player in the league.

You have fun on the bandwagon.

You mean how they were good the past 2 seasons in the playoffs? hahaha

I'll forgive Cooke when Savard plays a full season in the NHL again.

I'm pretty sure if Calgary had the same kind of talented prospects that Ottawa has, iginla wouldn't be in this situation now would he?

God I love Calgarypuck....

end of season, with a chance to have a top 3 pick and an almost sure-bet star player; Who cares about a couple of draft spots, I'd rather see the Flames win than lose and move up.

Franchise player gets chance late in his career to raise a cup; Screw'em, I'd rather him lose because it benifits the Flames by one draft position late in the first round if he loses.

Wow, do people actually believe the Crosby-draft lottery conspiracy? I thought that was only something crazy Flyer fans actually thought and everyone else joked about. That's a pretty serious accusation, that could ruin the NHL if true... not sure why they'd actually take such a risk?

Anyways, I realize how INSANELY lucky I am as a Pens fan... Man, we're spoiled as a fan base. Mario, Jagr, Crosby, Geno are all truly truly special players on top of many other damn good players I've been able to see. That being said... why Pittsburgh? They were one of the teams with 3 balls. Someone had to win... I'm guessing for about half the teams in the league that people could claim was some conspiracy, no matter who won. NY team- OOOO BIGGEST MARKET, SURE THAT'S NOT FISHY.. Any of the Cali teams, o spreading it to the biggest market in the West to have them into it. ANY of the teams down South or Phoenix - Bettman trying to still expand hockey while ignoring Canada. Toronto / Montreal, trying to get a return to the glory days, etc..

I get the Pens weren't in the best position at the time, but I was following that closely, I don't think Pittsburgh would ever move / the city was just being a pain in the !@# with arena deal and that was Mario's negotiating technique. Case in point, Mario was threatening to sale it to someone who would "move the team if need-be," then became ENRAGED when Balsillie ended up having plans to move them.

I don't know, I guess there would have been a conspiracy no matter who won it.

There are many posters with differing opinions, and I'm betting that few if any posters argue both sides

I don't think it was rigged but there will always be that thought out there when it wasn't done in public.

I don't understand all of these convoluted and calculated reasons to cheer for or against a team. As far as I'm concerned its far out of my control. I've aged enough just cheering for the flames.

I like hockey. I like Iginla. Iginla just happens to be on a line with the best player in the world. That's awesome in itself . Go Pens!

I truly want Iggy to do well.. and with the Pen's high power scoring potential and Vokoun playing solid.. aye ya ya mama sita, I think Ottawa will need to show some magic. That being said they've played like one heck of a team and if anyone can do it, it's them. I think this series drags out till game 7. Who wins? I truly think the team that wins will win the cup this year.

Go Iggy and Go Team Walrus. I can't wait for this series.

So you're saying that you don't understand how a discussion forum could have different opinions from different people? Thanks for the insight.

First of all I don't actually think it was rigged but it's extremely naive to think their isn't tampering or that it isn't possible it was rigged. We're talking about billionaire businessmen here. You think they got rich by not doing good business or ****ing people over? Wouldn't be the first time in a major sport and won't be the last.
