I hate Cooke as much as anyone. The guy is forever a Canuck which is equal part of his d-bag makeup...

but he has been extremely dialed down since his wife called him out. I think it was a year ago she approached him and told him the way he played was effecting her opinion of him as a man.

Suprised it took that much for him to clue in what a piece of trash he is, but since that time he's towed the line for the most part.

I despise the guy, but that's no reason not to cheer for Iggy. If I could put up with Marchment in Flames silks, I can ignore Cooke's exsistance without much trouble.

Fair enough if you really want that pick to be better. Just don't understand that mentality because I have no faith that the Flames will make a better pick because of it and with the uncertainty of post-top 10 players in every draft, it's really impossible to know whether it will help or hurt us. To me, it seems about 50/50 or it could end up not mattering at all.

Agreed. To me it's one of those things..... If the pens win the cup, good for Iginla. If they go out earlier, good for the Flames.

I think the Pens will have an easier time against the Sens than the Isles for some reason.

Give Iggy the cup, the pens pick will probably be moved anyway.

Ottawa, shmottawa. Outside the top five, the draft is a crap shoot at best - and it's even worse when it comes to the Flames.

This might be Iggy's only shot at a Cup, and I want him to go down as one of the best of all time. He's won championships at every single level he's played at, except for this one. When he goes into the HOF, I don't want any asterisks. I want a first-year ballot, with no excuses needed.

Pens all the way!

Guys, the Isles played a good series, and gave Pitt a good run for their money. Its the playoffs, expect it. To be honest, the Isles have been a really good team for the second half of the season. They would beat Ottawa in a 7 game series for sure. The Isles just had a crap start to the season or they would have been 4th or 5th seed. They have evolved into a seriously fast and exciting team.

Don't kid yourselves, Ottawa is in tough to beat Pitt.

Pitt in 6.

I would much rather see Iggy raise the cup, just once - regardless of his sweater - than improve ONE draft pick by a few positions.

Yeah right, GO IGGY GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty disappointed that so many of you guys have turned on him so fast. I mean, you don't have to root for the Pens, but I don't believe that you care that much about one draft position in the late 1st round, which leads me to believe you either absolutely hated the pens before Iggy was traded or you have something against Iginla. It's pretty confusing to see.
For me it's that. Third most hated team in the league for me, after Oil/Canucks

The Pens/Isles series reminded me a lot of the Flames/Canucks in '89. Two shutouts, being outworked. Once the Flames got that out of their system it was smooth sailing.

Pens over Senators in 5.

Disagree on pretty much every point you make. Isles don't really have any business being a playoff team, but the Eastern Conference had way more bad teams than average this year. The fact they won a couple games reflects badly on the Pens more than anything.

The Sens have the best goalie in the league and were missing Anderson, Karlsson and Spezza for large parts of the season. This team is a legit contender, and the way they handled the Habs is evidence of that. If the Pens don't get their **** together on defense they're going to be embarrassed.

Sens are the only Canadian team besides the Flames that I like, so I've always cheered for them to do well in the playoffs. I also want to see Iggy get a cup. So either way, I'm kind of impartial to this series. Any one of Sens, Pens, Kings, or Sharks winning the cup is a-ok to me.

Sens win this series I hope. Anderson is red hot right now and Karlsson is just rounding back into form. The only thing to make this better would be if Spezza can manage to get into the series. I've always had a soft spot for Ottawa so it's not hard to cheer for them.

Ugh. I feel like tim horton's donut hole.
You do know that players have a different game mentality in playoff games than regular season games, right?

One positive of the Pens continuing on is it makes the jobbing that all those guys got from River City Sports a little less painful.
