Yikes! Luongo is not good enough to start on his NHL team but he's Canada's Olympic starter? Scary!

This a thousand times. I think we were spoiled by so many years with Brodeur in his prime.

I am praying for a miracle.
But if it were today, I would go with:
Price
Luongo
Ward/Crawford/Smith
and hope that the Stamkos-Crosby-Tavares line goes hyper-beast-mode

Fluery would not be near my team in net. Price too is fairly shakey.
Luongo is probably the best option, I also like a healthy ward and a young future guy like Holtby.

Price can be shaky, but I think with Canada's defense he would be fine. If he is on, he is on.

Brodeur at 41 may be a better option than Price, Fleury, and Luongo... Now that's a very scary situation to say the least.

Luongo would be the #1 if it started today IMO. Hopefully they have more to pick from when the time comes.
If Fleury played he'd probably start scoring in his own net again to try and force overtime.

He won't get much of a sniff, but I really like Jonathan Bernier. The guy could be a starter on plenty of teams in this league.
if he moves in the offseason and has a strong start, I wouldn't be surprised if he was given a long look. The guy has the goods.

At this point I think a lot of people would consider a large bag pucks for the position. If he gets a chance to actually play significant minutes and does it well I would think he would at least get a look.

I just looked it up, and was surprised to see that there were only 8 Canadian goalies who started at least half of their teams' games this season. - Carey Price (38 starts)
- Devan Dubnyk (37 starts)
- Braden Holtby (35 starts)
- Mike Smith (34 starts)
- Marc-Andre Fleury (31 starts)
- James Reimer (31 starts)
- Martin Brodeur (29 starts)
- Corey Crawford (28 starts)
Without their injuries, Ward and Theodore would likely have been on the list too.
Elliott, Emery, Luongo, and MacDonald were the next four on the list, and could be there next year, but it's still less than half the teams in the league with a Canadian starter.

Price
Two of Ward/Crawford/Holtby/Smith
At this point I'd say Smith is heavily in contention. Wouldn't touch Luongo IMO.

Rinne, Rask, Niemi, Backstrom, Lehtonen, Kiprusoff.
Those were the starters for this season from Finland, a country with a population of 5 million. About 20-25% of Finnish players in NHL are goaltenders. I don't know should we be proud or sad.

At this point I'd likely take Reimer. Price and Fleury are head cases.

One of ward/brodeur/luongo depending how next season goes.
You really only need one on top of their game to win it.

I actually thought about him but it's hard to justify putting him in the 3rd spot when a guy like Dubnyk is starting for the Oilers and team Canada at the worlds in back to back years. He needs to get a starting role.
