Change all of the clothes / diapers all day without telling her you are doing it.

Make something using your kid's feet or hands. We did a photo album with the cover having foot and hand prints. Or make salt dough and make moldings of hands and feet and put it in a frame. If you look on the internet their are hundreds of crafts to do with hands and feet.

Personally I am anti present you buy from a store and all cards shoukd be homemade as much as possible buy the kids which in your case being the first year might just be scribbles on the page.

My wife says that Mother's Day is for children to give presents to their mother, so I'm off the hook and don't have to buy her something, which is nice. The kids make some home-made cards, and that's good enough.

I also make pancakes every Sunday morning, too, so that's something.

We pick great wine and ship it to you, a great way to discover some wine and learn more about wine tasting.
You work there Kermie? I got my parents some wine for an Xmas present and It's been great. Kudos to that company, great job.

I feel your pain, that was my exact situation 5 years ago... good luck with that.

so far these things have worked, over the last few years

- clearing the weekend of household duties
- one of those apple iphoto albums you can make of your kid doing cute things
- flowers
- homemade chocolate lava cake thing (surprisingly easy to make, and always a homerun)
- Hawaii

don't do them all at once otherwise you've set a ridiculous standard for every other mothers day / birthday combination for the rest of your marriage.

Yep, help with some of the wine selection. If anyone wants a coupon to use, let me know. I can't post something in here, because it gets picked up on retail me not.

As a customer of it as well, I love the wine discovery of the subscription.

If I was more on the ball I would have suggested an emotionally charged "thank you for all you've done" video of you and your mom/family. Something that she could watch over and over through the years. Moms dig that sappy stuff.
