I don't know how much this would throw off the OP's thesis, but I'm getting the feeling the CPers make a whole lot more money than the average American.

Btw, just a little feedback from someone who has lived in both countries. I think in general, the average Canadian travels way more internationally than the Average American. However I think the average American travels way more inside their own country....probably because let's face it, there are a lot more interesting destinations in the US than Canada. It's pretty much it's own little world.
Personally, if I had the time and the means, I'd be on the road half of the year.

Most of the Europe destinations and USA destinations have been like three or 4 day visits, the rest I've worked or lived in for a significant amount of time.

I won't list all the towns I've been to in Alberta. That would be super tedious. Probably a good 20-30. Even BC would be a bit of a pain. Rest of Canada is easy.
Saskatchewan - Regina, Saskatoon
Manitoba - Winnipeg
Ontario - Toronto
US - Montana, Idaho, Nevada, California, Utah, Washington, Hawaii
Resorts:
Mexico - Just PV I believe, but like 3 times
Dominican Republic
Europe:
Netherlands, England, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Belgium
Edit: I'll add Vatican City too, since people are including that lol. Guess I need to include Monaco as well then.
Asia:
Japan, Hong Kong, China, South Korea
Next month:
Peru, Brazil

Not necessarily, travelling doesnt have to be super expensive. I did most of my travelling when I was in University for one reason or another.
And I know for a fact I am not in the CP 1%. Not even remotely close.
I think it has more to do with having the available free time and having the desire to do it. As ze Germans vould zay, ze vanderlust!
I think this study is actually quite worthwhile. I remember reading something when George W. Bush ((spits on floor) was elected, before being elected he'd never set foot off of American soil. Thats a cultural attitude.
Its not exclusively an American attitude mind you, I've met Europeans (looking at you England) who had never left their town or island in 20+ years.

I knew a girl in Kitimat BC in her 20s who had only ever been to Terrace and Prince Rupert! Basically, she was never more than 200km for where she lived.
