Vancouver battled back from being down 2 with Dallas to end in a draw. I didn't see the game but always love a comeback
It was a pretty good comeback, for sure. Dallas were almost embarrassing with their diving and time wasting antics, which made it even better to see Vancouver come back and get a point. The atmosphere at BC Place seemed to be really good as well, even when it was still 0-2.
An estimated 3,000 fans turned out at Jeld-Wen Field today to watch the Portland Timbers take on the Green Machine, an eight-year-old's soccer club scheduled to take on the MLS side by the Make-A-Wish foundation. Yes, the cancer patient scored the winning goal.
The Timbers/Adidas decked out the entire Green Machine squad in new gear, and made trading cards for Atticus, the Timbers players were great "visiting" villains, as well.
The Timbers Army made special tifo, scarves, two stick signs, re-worded chants, etc. for the "home team". Proud to be a supporter today.
Great behind the scenes video:

I was at the game and I rarely get out to see games, not because I don't like soccer, but because I can never find anyone to go with. The reason being is most of my friends feel there is too much diving in soccer... I picked a great game to go too, even I was sickened to the point of not wanting to watch by Dallas.
If MLS wants this product to grow and gain a lot of traction they need to snuff that #### out now.
So this is not technically MLS news, but FC Edmonton (in NASL) has partnered with The Score to show 9 games this year. 3 will be tape delayed, 6 will be live.
A pretty big deal for a Dev 2 club to have national exposure on TV, as I believe they are the only Div 2 club with nationwide TV coverage.

I'm not surprised actually. There has to be room for this and other sports with the SCORE being bought out. Content is needed. I mean look at some of the dumb fillers they have on all the sports channels. About time they showed some actual sports and tried to build the audience for them.
Awesome news. I suspect that team is going to be heavily bankrolled as well. Perhaps also some sort of transfer agreement for developing players to NYFC in preparation for playing at MC, or even loaning out extras / veterans where required during the Premiership off-season.
MLS is unique when it comes to player salaries, transfers, etc. The players don't actually sign with the clubs, but with the league, itself. It'll be interesting to see how a new "crown jewel" club is managed by the league.
In other news, Robbie Rogers is in the 18 for LA tonight. He'll be the first openly gay male player in major American professional sports. Galaxy currently putting the boots to the flounders 3-0 in the first half. Suspect officiating hasn't helped Seattle's cause.
Being a TFC fan harder than being a Flames fan. What an aweful team with a revolving door of players. Every game is like the first game of the season. The only thing left to do is wait for Koevermans to come back.

Great to see the reception for Rogers. Great to see again why the Galaxy and Robbie won MLS last year.
Not so great seeing the second egg this edition of the Sounders has layed. Very hard to take advantage of Johnson and Martins when the midfield was horribly disjointed and leaderless.
This loss is on nominal DP Shalrie Joseph who simply does not have the same quality he had with NE.
Hopefully the Diego Forlan rumors are true and Alonso gets back sooner than later.
It's amazing how having Alonso changes that squad. If there were one player that I'd like to see in Timbers green other than Henry (Arsenal fan), It would be Alonso. He's the guy everyone hates, but would love if he were theirs.
I'd really hope to see Forlan somewhere, anywhere else.
U.S. Open Cup is getting revved up this week. If the Timbers and Sounders win, they meet up in the next round. Of course, after seeing Portland lose to Cal FC last year, I'm taking nothing for granted!
Probably jinxing it but IF Sounders/Timbers meet in next round of USOC, Hanauer will still have them play at Starfire in Tukwila which is a huge mistake. It reinforces the USOC as a lesser competition.
A couple of upsets already with Charelston beating San Jose and Orlando City over the Colorado Rapids.
Sounders are in tough playing the NASL champion Rowdies of Tampa Bay in TB.
