I agree Gillis drafting is horrible.

Best Idea Ever!

Kyuss, please implement, and provide photos of the reaction. I just hope your friends can putt through the tears....

I can't get the Team 1040 feed on my Apple device, due to the idiotic Flash issue. Does anyone know of an alternate method for streaming that will work on my POS iPhone?

Download TuneIn Radio.

Ray Ferraro actually said something that made sense. He said that all of the incidents of Canuck players/management calling out referees and officials did them no favours. He said that this is the one thing that they have to change above everything else. He's probably right. Personally I hope they still continue this ridiculous line of attack as it assuredly "does them no favours."

Granted. I was thinking more of the decision to stay the course with Iginla, Kipper and the rest of the core, hoping to rekindle the magic of '04. Like with Calgary, it probably won't happen in Vancouver, regardless of their more unsavoury characteristics.

You know who loves all this "was it a penalty or was it not a penalty" talk?

Cory Schneider.

That was a soft one and no one is talking about it.

agreed.

the tying goal was terrible rebound (not gloving the puck on the initial shot) then the terrible rebound (dropping puck nicely in the paint).

canucks can complain about the call all they want, but they were getting worked and giving up way more opportunities in OT. there wasn't a facet of the game that the canucks were equal to the sharks.

My money is that schneider has played his last game as a nuck, as not only is he a more movable asset, maybe luongo is the more reliable go-to goalie.

Thanks so much for the suggestions jschick and resalien, I'm listening to the tears and teeth gnashing live and in person.

They're about to go to the phones, and then Jim Hughson. I'm giddy in anticipation like Ron Swanson.

He let in a lot of soft ones. That will be one of the major questions for the Canucks moving forward if they finally do deal Luongo.......what goalie do they actually have in Schneider? Was he playing hurt or just an overrated goaltender who can't make big saves in must-win games?

So many questions all over the roster for the Canucks this summer. They're kind of a mess.

But would Luongo even want to stay? Plays well and gets benched to start the final two games of the series while Schneider struggles. Not so sure he'd want to stick around at all.

and no one talks about the soft call against Desjardins that let the Canucks tie the game,,,,

sounded like he has conceded that his contract is unmovable.

Only options they have is:
1) compliance buyout luongo -> that's a lotta dough for any franchise to simply throw away.
2) trade luongo -> they'd have to hold onto a lot of salary/etc to make this work, and likely not get much in return
3) trade scheider -> likely do get desirable assets in return

you're right though, who knows. if i was gillis, i'd simply clean this up by giving the starting job and franchise goalie tag to luongo, move schneider trying to get some young forwards who can play that couture/pavelski role on this canucks team(ie. layered scoring outside the sedins) or strong puck moving dmen to replace the void left by erhoff/salo, that guys like ballard/garrsison simply don't fill.

I agree. I don't think Loungo wants the job because of default on his contract. My guess when Lou walks into the end of the year meeting that he says trade me, i have already put my penthouse up for sale.

I think you get a better return for Schneider and honestly Luongo looked pretty damn good in the two games he played. I would probably move Schneider at this point if it brings another young piece back that brings that secondary scoring and grit.

All 3 western Canadian teams with disappointing years. Calgary finally bites the bullet and starts a rebuild. Edmonton fails to take a big step forward and finishes 12th. Vancouver swept in the first round.

I think Vancouver is in a tough spot now with no cap flexibility, no prospects, an aging team and a horrible GM with a fresh 5 year contract extension kicking in. Sure they will fire AV and probably buyout a couple guys to make tweaks but their window is closed and they slide to being a bubble team next year IMO. Slow and painful death awaits.
