I saw a comment of BHAFCs North Stand Chat where someone said that, "Thatcher dead, Ferguson retiring, somewhere there's a Scouser with a lamp and one wish left."

time will tell. There's the group that says he's not good enough, and there's the group that says he deserves a chance based on his time at Everton. Put me in the latter column. It's time for him to finally move to a bigger club ... we'll see how he fares. IMO he's the best choice for United right now. Klopp? Would be awesome, but Dortmund won't let him go. Mourinho? Hated by fans and seems to have that weird "3 years and then bye bye" rule that doesn't fit United. Solskjaer? Too young and unproven. It's probably a small pool of candidates and Moyes is by far the best fit for United. I sure hope he takes Baines with him. Rooney's future is in major doubt now though.

That all is, of course, if Moyes really comes to United. We should know pretty soon.

he could always make the jump

but to me is is an old fashioned manager, not adaptive to new styles of play or formations, loves to play the longball and his teams are prone to streaks (good and bad) which isn't ideal at the top of the table

he's also been poor in the transfer market for the most part

If it's Moyes, I see the moment he faulters, Fergie returns.

And how does Moyes manage Rooney? He sued him 5 years ago for defamation. lol

nah I hope Fergie's gone for good. Not a fan of comebacks like that.

And Rooney? He either has to deal with it, or Moyes gets famous for selling him twice and Kagawa steps in.

the Mourinho for 3 years thing is why I think it would work

because at that point Ole or Giggs can take over and some trophies have been added to the cabinet

for Moyes, if he's gone in 3-5 years it's because he's been a disaster

Has Chelsea ever played with Mata up top, with Lamps behind him? Figure it'd work better than with Fernie up top.
