the host summarized the whole canucks window closing so succinctly when he told that caller "he had a good run"

"Thanks vancouver we've got a lot of other playoff teams on hold right now, but you know, you had a good run."

Just a reminder that according to CapGeek, for the 2013-2014 season Vancouver has 17 players signed for a cap space of negative $102,778.

Make your own conclusion. But sound like the "Your gonna get your ass kicked." type of laughing. Starts about 10 seconds in. I apologize for the potato sound.
It didnt sound like a threat to me, more like a guy trying to figure out what to say while talking. Not a good combo with the emotion added in.

Schadenfreude! Is it always this good?

The host on now just said (paraphrasing) "the Roy trade was good, but he just isn't as good as the team expected. They were sold a bill of goods!".

Lots of whining in that clip, but I have no clue how someone could construe a threat out of that. I like shadenfreude as much as the next flames fan, but come on guys, you're really reaching there.

Maybe threat is the wrong word. But when you say in effect, that official better not think about living in B.C. anymore, that's really really low. I expect that kind of nonsense from angry drunk fans after a loss.

It was extremely unprofessional to even broach the topic, and take it down that path. What relevance did the fact "He lived in BC, and would shortly not be a resident in BC" have to do with anything whatsoever, besides the fact there should/could be some sort of revenge exacted?

There is no other reason to bring it up. Unless he was of course expecting a biased call based on his province of residence, which is just as bad. However I doubt that is what he was insinuating, as he went off about how poorly the reffing was tilted against the Canucks the previous 7 minutes. So that only leaves one conclusion.

He brought it up as a " dude will not be popular around these parts no more, haha". You're being a bit dramatic with this IMO

I am not saying that a threat was made by him. That would be career suicide, and even a Canucks fanboy wouldn't be that dumb. However, some nut job listening, could very well take that as a suggestion to do something stupid. And as we know, Canuck fans are a dangerous bunch with a ravenous thirst for blood, violence and mayhem. They have showed us twice what they are capable of.

It was stupid, unprofessional, and extremely immature from a so-called 'professional'.

It was dumb for sure and unprofessional but I dont think he was making an actual threat. Either way, I'd guess he'll end up apologising.

Perhaps, likely even, however after listening to him talk in a nearly hysterical, melodramatic manner for nearly 10 minutes, it's not a stretch to see how people could consider it a threat (for lack of better word) or at best a very unprofessional comment.

Ranting to the point of becoming angry about not being able to talk to the "coward" then talking about where Kelly lives? Just dumb.
