I dislike the Nucks as much as the next guy, but not a chance. That was a penalty by the definition of the rules, but 10 out of 10 times you think that gets called in the NHL, not a chance. I'd say may 3 out of 10 in a regular season game, and less than 1 out of 10 in playoff OT. That's why they'd be pissed, that call is completely arbitrary based on the calls being made or more importantly not being made leading up to it. No consistency in the enforcement of the rules is always the problem with NHL officiating.

That said, lost in all the crying is the fact that Nucks tied this game in the first place on an awfully weak call too.

That was two opponents fighting for position. Shoulder to shoulder. Bad call and a great result.

I know what boarding is. I don't believe it was. Pretty simple. If you believe it was then so be it. We disagree.

Are these real? If so, you have to put one of them on e-bay. I would love to see how much you could get.

I haven't been able to post this since the last Flames win but this most certainly deserves it...

I thought it was interference more than boarding. I guess it could be called a board battle, but just the way the play went it felt more like interference than boarding.

That said, it was a dangerous play. 2 minutes well-deserved.

1)The OT call was just flat-out awful, no way around it.

2)If Bieksa doesn't take a stupid, legitimate penalty it doesn't go to OT.

And the Flames won the exact amount of playoff games the Canucks won this year as well.

It wasn't a shot, don't be defensive.

You were suggesting the fact it was shoulder to shoulder somehow stops it from being boarding. It does not. The rule clearly states it can be a check (like it was) or a push.

Any riot action happening right now? Or did they suspend Skytrain service from Surrey?

The mighty canucks with only one more post-season win than the oilers and Flames in the past two years?

Weather or not it gets called all the time or not, it is a penalty every time it takes place. When it doesn't you should feel lucky, take the missed call and run. I won't argue about NHL officiating consistency because I agree with you 100% that the NHL is laughable at best, but the rule is the rule regardless of how often it's called.

LOL, this text is from my 67 year old mother. I have trained her so well on Canuck hatred.
