Kind of silly to nominate two others. Might as well just give it to Suter now.

yup Subban has to win this. He was a beast during the season and a PP machine.

Subban still too much of a mouthpiece to deserve it IMO.

Suter had almost as many points as Subban, while playing almost 4 minutes more a game, against much tougher competition. Not even close IMO.

Subban had 7 more goals in 6 fewer games. A better +/-, a lot more hits, more PPP. Suter takes blocked shots and TOI. I suppose not being on as "good" of a team plays into it as well.

Subban really took strides this year. He has become a smarter player and a better team player, but I don't think he is quite there yet.
I do think he will get there though.
I have to take Suter.

I'd take Keith or Chara on my team before any of these nominees.

Not sure what that has to do with his ability as a denfenceman. Subban is elite and deserving of this.

This depends if they want to award the best defenceman (Suter) or the best offensive defenceman (Subban).
I would pick Suter, personally, but Subban does have the East coast factor, as well as putting up a lot of points, so I could see him winning on that basis

Chara in his prime, yes. Chara currently, no way. He's on the decline.

I remember a discussion on CP and a lot of posters would not want Subban on the flames. I still shake my head at those posters.
Tough to pick a winner out of that group, they are all great. I will go with Letang.

Its pretty well always been best offensive defenseman. You can't win unless you put up a ton of points.

I've always felt that the guy who gets his points in fewer minutes is, all else being equal, the better player.
