While Gibbons is not at fault, I think he is a horrible manager. He has mismanaged the team numerous times this season. Pinch hitting for Rasmus for Davis or Bonifacio etc, it only have the PH fail to get on base, then have the CF defence fail without Rasmus playing CF. Pulling his starting pitching with 1 out to go in a inning, despite the pitcher having a good game etc.

Yes, the players need to step up, but not everything can be placed on them, just like not everything can be placed on Gibbons. Every member of the Jay stuff needs to step up, own it, and be the team they can be.

But I am drunk, so what do I know.
A Jays starter has only been pulled once with 2 outs past the 5th inning of a game. Considering we've only had a starter go 6+ innings about a dozen times, I don't know how a quick hook has been a problem.

You want to know whats wrong with the Bluejays look no further than their AAA Team.

"Brown’s Bisons — the Jays’ Triple-A affiliate — downed Rochester Sunday, setting a Jays organizational record for wins by a team in April."

"The Bisons own the best offensive numbers in baseball at the moment. Jim Negrych (.429) is leading the International League in batting, Moises Sierra (.389) is second and Luis Jimenez (.373) fourth. Others, like Josh Thole, Ryan Goins and Anthony Gose have performed at all-star levels."

Yet we have not seen any call ups... which does not make any sense at all.

I am not sure calling up guys with mediocre numbers at best over their minor league careers just because they are hot to start the season is going to do a lot for the major league team.

I would also be very leery of putting too much stock into hitting numbers at AAA for any team/player.

I think at the very least it would send a message that you need to perform or face being demoted. With a record of 10-20 you have nothing to lose.

The first move that needs to be done is replace Rasmus with Gose in center field.

Just because your AAA team is doing well doesn't mean you can call them up.

But at this point, something does need to change. Down 7-0 to Seattle again.

I guess but you also risk sending the message that you are crap so we are bringing up meh guy from minors to replace you. If you have a young prospect doing well I can see maybe bringing them up but the Jays are pretty much stuck going with the guys they started with.

I don't think much changes from Gose to Rasmus except less SO/HR's more pop outs/SB's.

I feel bad for Buck Martinez constantly trying to put positive spins on terrible baseball being played by the Jays.

This Jays team is so bad.

Mariners end it with an athletic play at short stop. Something the Jays could likely never pull off this season.

Something horribly wrong in this locker room. I was listening to FAN960 the other day. they said one of the older guys called a meeting (might have been DeRosa), he got up and spoke a bit, sounded like he was looking for one of the stars of the team to join him up there. Nothing. Bautista didn't step up, Dickey, nobody. Someone needs to step up and lead this bunch. Now.

Rasmus is also one of those guys you need to handle with kid gloves. He has the tools, just not the confidence.

Lurker here usually but I just wanted to give hope that the Jays won't be swept as well as a little perspective. Notwithstanding the spitball controversy, Jays have faced 3 pitchers in a row with the best ERA in the AL. Mariners will have "Safeco Joe" Saunders whose home/away splits are really dramatic <1 ERA at home versus >12 on the road. Look for that to continue on Sunday.

First time I've seen the Jays play this year and love the retro uniforms. Maybe too 90's retro looking with that Skydome carpet.

The PO are probably lost this year but the group is too good to be in last place. Hopefully they can get their collective heads in a better place since it just looks like expectations were way too high considering the number of changes in the off season and the need to gel as a group.

From a Mariners perspective, the offense has come alive finally not coincidentally with Michael Saunders coming off the DL. Any success going forward is more offense than last year which looks to be happening and the back end of the rotation of Saunders, Maurer and Harang stealing a few wins.

Joe Saunders sucks as seattleflamer predicted but what the hell were the Mariners doing on that pop up?

Let the 1b catch it and it is an easy throw to get Davis, who probably doesn't run if that happens.

Melky hits his first HR, then gets the silent treatment from the dugout.
