I really wish Alberta had one real option besides the Conservatives and the wildrose.

To me that is the problem. Alberta is a land of dynasties. UFA>SoCreds>PCs>?

To me it looks like the PCs may have run their course...but there is no way I can turn the reigns of the economy over to Wildrose... Especially if you consider building the knowledge based economy in Alberta a priority. We need to be savvy about turning our resource wealth into capabilities that will keep our kids employed.

I really love Alberta politics. You have the right and the far right locked into a full-on steel-cage death match over who can say the stupidest things.

Not to defend her but give me a break. She went through an election where she held a massive lead until she was sandbagged by a couple of idiots which gave the Conservatives an opening to use negative campaigning to place doubt.

And the party did show growth.

And currently the Wildrose has a massive lead in the polls over the Conservatives. She's also moderated the party platform taking out the things that voters didn't want. There's currently no reason to replace her.

I believe if the leadership in the next election in the PC party is the same a moldy banana will probably win a majority over the PC's.

Its going to be very hard for me with or without Redford leading the Cons to vote for them because the people behind Redford are just as petty and stupid as she is and are part of the problems plaguing that party.

Actually, her rather pathetic response to those two morons is what really cost her. That was, to put it lightly, some pretty weak leadership, effectively condoning what they said (or at best, condoning their right to say it). Had she loudly denounced them and fired them, they probably win.

Also, growth? I guess, but only in the rural areas where they're always going to be viable. But in the cities the NDP and Liberals got more seats. Long, long way to go, and if Redford isn't the leader in the next election their odds decrease again. They blew their best shot last year, thanks to Danielle's weak leadership.
