Yannik Hansen can't hit the empty net. Danica Patrick and Mr T can hit the net from center ice

Sitting on the beach in Cyprus and I thought I'd check last night's scores. Lovely to see Vancouver blow Game 2. 28c, lots of sun and the Canucks down 0-2. Life is good.

Wish I had been awake to watch this catastrophe. That fan base must be freaking right out. I don't see them being swept though. I think they manage to push it to 6.
Glad to hear Thornton had a good game too.

6 more periods until AV is gone. That will buy Gillis another season. Maybe.

The post game was entertaining with callers blasting Vigneault, Gillis, the rest of the coaching staff, and then the players. The same was going on CKNW. Sunday will be a gong show cause 1040 will be doing a weekday schedule meaning from 11:00 onwards to game time. It means more panic calls from Canuck fans to their radio shrinks.

Yep, Niemi's is a brick wall in SJ. That's the difference between Niemi and Loserongo. Loserongo loses the big game at home and Niemi wins it on the road. Luongo doesn't have a cup ring, Niemi does.

You can't blame Luongo for the lack of offense for VCR. Is it his fault the Sedin line isn't generating crap for offense. The whole team sucks, not just Loseruongo.
Which makes me happy,
Luongo should've pulled himself when he looked injured and let Joey Kanada play in net

In the first two home games in the playoffs, only four players have registered points (Kesler, Bieksa, H Sedin, D Sedin), only two players have scored goals (Kesler and Bieksa), and there is not a single plus-player on the roster.
This is a very, very average playoff team.

If you think Luongo is the reason this series is 2-0 Sharks... Then there's just no pleasing people.
Although, interesting that Marleau and Parise scored in almost the exact same spot at a pretty similar time.

I really, really dislike Raffi Torres but I can see why the Sharks picked him up at the deadline as he always seems to be a factor one way or another in the playoffs.
Seems like the Sedins have aged five years since they were atop the league scoring a few years back. Like Iginla over the past year or two they look a little slower and less effective. Has to be a big concern for the Canucks as they are really the only elite offensive forwards on the roster.
This will be a good offseason to be looking for a head coach as Ruff and likely AV, even possibly Tippet could be available.

...or in the system. The Canucks have NOTHING in the pipeline.
Henrik Sedin: - 2010: 82 GP | 29 G | 83 Asst | 112 Pts || 1.37 Pts/Game
- 2011: 82 GP | 19 G | 75 Asst | 94 Pts || 1.15 Pts/Game
- 2012: 82 GP | 14 G | 67 Asst | 81 Pts || 0.99 Pts/Game
- 2013: 48 GP | 11 G | 34 Asst | 45 Pts || 0.94 Pts/Game
Daniel Sedin: - 2010: 63 GP | 29 G | 56 Asst | 85 Pts || 1.35 Pts/Game
- 2011: 82 GP | 41 G | 63 Asst | 104 Pts || 1.27 Pts/Game
- 2012: 72 GP | 30 G | 37 Asst | 67 Pts || 0.93 Pts/Game
- 2013: 47 GP | 12 G | 28 Asst | 40 Pts || 0.85 Pts/Game
At least Iginla followed up a couple of average seasons with some spectacular ones. I don't expect the same from the Sedins.
I think it is pretty clear that the Sedins are very steadily trending down. This team was a Stanley Cup threat because they were top-five players in the League. Now that they are top-thirty, the Canucks are a fairly average playoff team. I predict that beginning next season, with another step towards retirement for the Sedins and a lower cap, the Canucks will be a playoff bubble team. They won't make it in 2015.

Teams like Detroit and Vancouver could really cheat the curve by goin into a rebuild now, as opposed to waiting out the slow decline...teams never seem to do that, though.. Too much pressure to win now and make playoff money, I assume.
Imagine what type of futures package could be had for Zetterberg, Franzen, Kronwall and Datsyuk... Or the Sedins, Bieksa and Edler... Either team could have owned the first round of this draft and next.

So why are the Canucks ####e at home? Can I assume that the Canucks fans are to blame? Perhaps how the Canucks org is having difficulties selling their product to Vancouver fans? (whether that is because the Canucks are not a brand to be proud of, or because the ownership is doing everything they can to pull every last dime out of the pockets of fans)
This is just as much fun as watching the Oilers organization, however their fans will support their team when they are doing well.
