Had a Double Double animal style today in Vegas for lunch. Outstanding as usual. We need one in Calgary so I can get fat(ter).

Has anyone been to Shake Shack in New York (or now in Miami)? To me the best burger out there. Clive Burger seems a bit of an imitation (especially branding), but falls short.

Flippin' Burgers is at 330 10th Street NW in the location formerly occupied by Crepe Avenue (between the dollar store and the head shop).
They have been open for about a week or less.
It is a narrow space - about 15 seats - two booths (of 2) on one side; three tables on a long bench on the other and three seats at the front window. The orange/red walls are covered with old photographs - going for a diner vibe. Seems to be a family-run operation - owner on the burger plating/finishing station; spouse/partner greeting; son(?) of the owner on the cash register and someone else on the grill.
Menu is basically burgers, fries and shakes.
Burgers is local grain-fed beef - 6 oz patties (there is a veggie burger option).
Home-cut fries; yam fries available and frozen onion rings.
I ordered a bacon cheese burger with a small fry.
Lots of topping options - put on onions, lettuce, mayo and ketchup - just basic toppings for me.
Nice juicy burger - bun was soft without falling apart, cheddar cheese.
Small fries are pretty big (size of a pint carton) maybe a little underdone and the BBQ seasoning was not to my taste - I will get them to leave it off next time..
$13 - $8 cheese burger, $2 bacon add-on, $2.25 small fries.
Right now I would rate it as 3.5 out of 5.

Went to Blue Star Diner on the weekend- never disappointed. The Pork burger might be the best burger on the menu, but the regular Dairy Lane is awesome as well.

I went to Dairy Lane yesterday and grabbed a couple of burgers for take out, I am thinking the Caribbean pork might be better than their burger - which they again forgot the fried egg on...

I agree, I finally convinced myself to order something other than the Dairy Lane burger and now feel foolish for not doing it earlier. The pork burger is my favorite.

Well, it's been almost a month since I've been there but I can finally say that In-n-Out met and/or exceeded my expectations. The Animal fries were pretty tasty, but the Double Double stole the show. Hands down the best fast food burger I've ever tried, although I have yet to visit Five Guys. That should change as soon as their Saskatoon location opens.

The Flippn Burger:
Double burger with cheddar, swiss, beefy bacon, frizzled onions, sauteed mushrooms, spicy chipotle.
add up to 15 condiments, and 8 toppings.
Good, but not cheap at $13. A bit salty.

Went out to Turner Valley a couple weekends ago to try the burger at the Chuckwagon Cafe. Really good. Definitely worth the drive.

I find it to be a real great burger. Even when cold the burger's quality shines through. I have to make the drive once every couple of months. It's a satisfying feeling eating any beef products from Chuckwagon knowing that it was raised down in Longview. The beef and barley soup is killer too.

The fries were damn good too. Nice little place. I'd love to try their breakfast sometime.

Made the trip to the Chuckwagon last weekend with the girlfriend. We both had the burgers. Thought they were tasty, but not quite as great as we were expecting. We thought the burger at Original Joes and Cactus Club were tastier. Doubt we will make the drive to Chuckwagon again, but at least we can say we tried it.

I strolled to Flippin Burger after work. The burger was really good, but I wouldn't recommend getting it as take-out; soggy bun, soggy frizzled onions sadness. The fries were great.

So what's actually happened to Burgerquest? Nothing new since last January. Going to 5 Guys for lunch today and realized there's a serious void in burger news lately.
