i liked maclean's comment on being mad at the guy who made the suicide pass.

I coughed up my shake when i read prust's 'fat walrus' comment due to sheer laughter.

emotions running high, this series is just getting juicier. Hopefully eller recovers quickly.

Also, why are Pacioretty, and Gionta not playing?!? didn't watch game I, didn't realize habs had these injuries.

Both are listed with upper-body injuries. Haven't read anything else on it yet.

What in the... Opinions are for topics that require opinions, "thoughts" are for discussing topics that don't have rules.

The video, from multiple angles CLEARLY shows it was a clean hockey hit and the neck snaps due to the momentum of his body with the force of the hit, otherwise known as whiplash. Simple physics, as someone pointed out you can experiment with this yourself if you were so inclined. I'm sorry but in this case no opinion really matters since we have fact, proven by all the video evidence.

Watching it a normal speed its like woah dirty hit, probably because of the head motion. Watching it in multiple angle slow mo, its a fairly clean hit with maybe some accidental head contact.

in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions (Breakfast Club Yo) it was one of the more brutal suicide passes that lead to a hit that any player that wants to stay in the NHL had to make. The Ottawa player actually did a textbook hit there.

But there will be a suspension, just because.

1game.

Seriously? Gionta a Pacioretty out with 'upper body' injuries? In the playoffs?

They're suffering from whiplash from running away from Gryba after the hit

Could easily be head related in which case...you take no chances regardless of time of the year.

Where was all of Prust's big talk last night? You know...during the game?

Okay, but they both played full games last night, so a head injury isnt likely.

Who knows. They could have come in with shoulder injuries or something that were pushed beyond the limit last night. I can't stand Pacioretty but I can't see him sitting out if he was able to go.

If Gryba plays tonight I'd be scared for his life in Montreal.

This has the recipe for Todd Bertuzzi written all over it.

And there better be extra security because Hab fans are a pretty dumb bunch.

If I was Gryba I would be out there laying the biggest hits I could tonight.

I wonder if Prust is aware that MacLean was a better player than he's ever been. I like Prust too, but he shouldn't be taking shots at MacLean of all people.

Yup, he has a real opportunity to get the Habs completely off of their game by going out and hitting people.

I expect that Prust will challenge him as quick as he can.

The Refs are going to call everything

Maybe this has already been brought up, but do you guys remember how badly the Habs fans freaked out about 4 or 5 years ago when Reghre absolutely destroyed their tough guy (forget his name) with a clean hit? They have shown they are unable to separate the actual hit from the result in the past, and completely unable to separate their emotions from reality, and that was during the regular season, I can't imagine how reved up they must now.

don't even need to go back that far. Remember when criminal charges were laid against chara just last year (or the year before, can't remember).

You're right, but the Senators did the same thing over the Karlsson injury earlier this season. Intent only seems to matter when it's your guy who hurts someone else.
