Did I miss something there? That did not look like a headshot and certainly not interference.

The only point of contact that I saw in the replays was the head. KOed on his feet and fell cheek first onto the ice.

The hit didn't cause the bleeding, hitting the ice did.

Judging from the replay, that looked like a clean hit to me. Ottawa fans will be justified to be angry if Montreal scores a goal or two on this major.

Why is that a penalty? Sucks he got hurt, but was a suicide pass.

If Eller wasn't bleeding, that's not even a penalty.

Shoulder directly to the jaw. Filthy, filthy hit.

Run up the score on the PP, then get some revenge. Would love to see one of Ottawa's stars leave the ice in similar condition to Eller. Maybe White can finish the job on Karlsson's leg.

I hope Melnyk puts his CSI team on the case for that one just like he did for the Karllson injury

in the interest of fairness

obviously i don't like the Habs but that guy clipped the dude in the head. On the other side of this, If that suicide pass isn't made there is no hit coming to Eller.

It was definitely a headshot, but there's no way to tell from the replays whether that was the intent or if it was just the result of a 6'5" guy throwing a somewhat reckless hit against a shorter guy who wasn't aware of his surroundings.

I'm fine with the penalty (though not for interference), but I don't think it deserves a suspension.
