Default Canada Sim card

Hi, I'm coming to Canada in a few weeks for work and I want to get a Canadian sim card for my phone so that I can call clients without paying international rates on my UK sim card.

Is there a pay-as-you-go version I can get (put credit onto it with cash), we have these over here, and is there a network provider that is a better choice due to coverage etc??

Thanks

All the major providers offer that. Depending on what kind of phone you have, you may be limited to certain carriers. The carriers all offer phone packages that basically give you free entry level phones (IE you buy a phone for $75, but it comes with $75 worth of free airtime.).

If you want to use your current phone, then just make sure it is unlocked.

Telus/Bell (2 companies on the same network) have the best coverage, but are most expensive. Some people say Rogers is better, but I find it slightly worse. It might be worth going for Rogers if it is cheaper.

Below that, there a bunch of other services: Koodo, Virgin, Speakout, Fido, etc.. they are all cheaper but not as good.

Thanks Blankall, it might make sense to get a package with a phone and credit, save me keep switching sim cards between my phone, which is unlocked.

Thanks for your help.

For pre pay I would get Virgin mobile. It is very cheap for Canada and works on Bell towers. Best of both worlds.
