What do you usually eat for lunch?
I work downtown and am getting kind of tired of the usual Donair/Viet Sub/Mcdonalds/Opa/type of stuff.. what do you usually eat for lunch?
Do you take the time to prep one before work (I've tried numerous times but always fail miserably) or do you usually just go grab fast food or what not? I've been attempting to eat healthy but how many times can you really visit subway/extreme pita without it getting old. Salads... yeah I'm not a rabbit so don't even go there. What's on the menu for today CP?!

I almost always have leftovers. Cook a little extra at dinner the night before and I'm good to go!

I'm having Ha Long Bay today (veitnamese on 7th ave & 2nd St). Sunterra is a good place too for different things. I'm terrible for bringing food for lunch.

That's a smart idea if you cook haha since I live alone I tend to just go grab something quick for dinner to save on the clean up/grocery shopping/I'm lazy what can I say
(Mods just realized I could have put this in the Food/Entertainment thread.. totally overlooked that, feel free to move this)

I usually cook my lunches for the week on Sunday. Because I am lazy, I mostly end up taking the same thing for an entire week but I've also started freezing stuff so I can just pull something out and be good to go.

Yeah I got bored of the food places below my office as well, and eventually I just brought my own lunches from home. I can make what I actually want, and usually take leftovers from dinner. Saves money and gives you the variety you want.
However, for eats I'll usually go to Sunterra for their salad bar or Heath Fare for their awesome sweet potato rosemary wedges and their awesome dill sauce!

Yup. Takes about a week to get used to it but it's second nature now.

Where downtown do you work? When I'm staying in Calgary, this place is right near my hotel and it's a good lunch spot:

Question to those who take lunch everyday: how do you know what you'll want to eat when lunch time comes around?

That looks like a sweet spot! I work right beside the Nexen building. I think I just spotted a food truck outside my window

I bring lunch from home everyday. A couple of sandwiches(usually ham or chicken) an apple, a couple of granola bars, V8 to drink. Sometimes mix it up with a different juice or sandwich but the apple and granola bars are staples.
