Future Considerations? Isn't that two guys who used to be with Hockey's Future? I don't want to slam either publication but just how many scouts does either have access to and how many of these players have these guys seen live during the year? Future Considerations also seems like an aggregator of information and then publish their spin based on commonalities more than anything. A two man shop run out of Grande Prairie doesn't seem like they would have a finger on the pulse of the hockey world. What makes them credible?

I checked my local Shoppers Drug Mart and Chapters and couldn't find it. Guessing it hasn't gone on newsstands yet.

I sit in the pressbox (Hitmen games) by 2 of FC's WHL guys on a regular basis. Can't say 1st hand for other leagues, but they get plenty of live viewings in.

So do these appear to be experienced scouts that have been around the game for a while, or are these young guys that write for a web publication? Just curious because the writers appear to be young guys and have no real hockey experience.
Someone mentioned credibility in this thread early on and I think it is important to understand the experience and expertise of the people that being considered experts. I like to hear what hockey people who have seen 20+ years of player development and understand the challenges these kids face have to say. What is your experience with who is representing these online publications (I'm assuming you fall in that category as well)?

Hey if you don't buy their credibility - don't buy the publication. If you aren't willing to even give it a shot that's on you. For the money they charge it is a great guide.
That's all anyone is saying.

I kind of think that's the point, isn't it? I just want to understand the expertise that goes into these publications. I buy Golf Digest because they are reputable and have actual experts in their field doing research and writing columns. I just want to know if these publications in question meet the same standard or if they are published out of some guy's apartment and are staffed by 19 year old kids who are aggregating data without any idea what they are really talking about. This is just a simple, honest question I wanted answered.
