True. Got a feeling that the first 4, Jones, MacKinnon, Drouin and Barkov will go in order. I think it gets interesting at the 5th spot.
Where do you see Monahan?

I have a hard time believing that the russian will drop in the to 9-10 range to be honest. He's ranked #2, and while the russian factor matters, dropping that low? I dunno.

He's ranked 2 by ONE group: ISS, and being the international agency, they tend to rank the Europeans higher than they are ranked here.

Here is hoping Nashville falls in love with Nichuskin and is willing to drop down to 6 to take him

I think Carolina or Nashville could in theory take a chance on him

There's no way Nashville is taking a chance on a Russian.

No teams do that.

After Radulov and the Kostitsyns, I doubt Nashville rolls the dice on the Russian. They will choose Barkov easily.
Carolina is another story. Their pick will be the real wild card IMO. Could see them picking the Russian or going off the board for D.

No way Car goes off the board (at 5? No way) bu,t I can see them taking the Russian, seeing as they just signed an enigmatic Russian to a 6 year deal. Semin can teach him everything he knows

He looks so good that I doubt he's around by 6th.

just going with top 6 picks back to the Sedin draft
Henrik Sedin
Daniel Sedin
Nicklas Backstrom
Victor Hedman
OEL
Adam Landeskog
Mika Zibanajad
Adam Larsson
not a bad list at all

Did some research on Carolina's past drafting history. Some would say that Daryl Sutter was the man in charge of their drafting.
Since they joined the league in 1997, the Canes have only drafted 2 players (Igor Kynazev 1st rounder 2001 and Mattias Lindstrom 3rd rounder 2009) that played outside of NA during their draft year in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd rounds of the entry draft (40 players).
For some reason they don't like drafting players that are playing outside of NA (perhaps due to lack of scouting in Europe?)
Pretty good indicator they might not pick Nichuskin or Lindholm

I could actually see it going this way. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Nashville took Lindholm over Barkov.

Maybe Nashville will forget that Barkov is not Russian and take a pass.
