I have a really bad feeling that on draft day all our 1sts will be traded for a lesser 1st + other pick.

Approx. 20M in cap space (Iginla, Bouwmeester and Kiprusoff)
Three 1st round picks, including one at 6th overall
Solid core of youngsters that could be in the lineup playing a prominent role next season (Backlund, Baertschi, Brodie, Horak, Reinhart and Wotherspoon)
Throw in Monahan, and then surround the hungry kids with experienced vets, and it should be a fun season... if they get decent goaltending.

I REALLY hope Feaster considers moving up in the draft. Please, please Feaster trade up and draft Jonathan Drouin. Superstar in the making.

If they trade up, it better not be for Jonathan fricken Drouin.

Mackinnon or just stay where they are and gamble on Barkov/Lindholm/Monahan.

They need a top line center, or did you enjoy watching the season with 1 center in the line-up?

This only makes sense if you hate Feaster. How else to explain a Flames fan not wanting to take shots at the Oilers?

I don't. It is a clear indication of the lack of professionalism that he shows.

Sutter had his flaws, but he was always respectful of others and other organizations and kept his thoughts to himself.

haha I honestly don't hate Feaster, in fact I'm pretty indifferent overall to him. And I certainly wouldn't hate him over something like this, I just think it's arrogant, unnecessary and unbecoming of a GM.

There's no reason for it and it serves no purpose, and like I said take care of your own backyard before pissing in others (if you feel the need to) is sort of my point. He just needs to worry about his job and that's not playing critic of the Oilers.

With regards to any other team and I would agree with you. But this is the Edmonton Oilers we are talking about here. Of course the right thing to do in every situation is to take as many digs at that armpit of the earth at every opportunity that is made available. In fact, for a Flames general manager, this should be part of the job description and with employment implications: Not slamming the Oilers in public? You're fired.

If the difference is between Crosby to forsberg. I do. Not to say either player compares to the two I mentioned. But I do it.

What if the difference was more like Sakic to say Brad Richards, Henrik Sedin or Getzlaf?

I get the feeling that the spread probably resembles something more like that.

There is no "Crosby" in this draft.

With a player like Drouin position doesn't matter. That's a guy you don't pass up on just because you have Johnny ****ing Gaudreau in the system, no offense to him. He's the most offensively talented player in this draft.

As others have noted, the drop off is not so steep as to warrant making the team WORSE by trading one of our better players or prospects.

I would argue a Sakic to Brad Richards / Sedin / Getzlaf is a bigger gap than a Crosby to Forsberg. But that just might be my bias as Sakic is one of my fav players of all time.

Sure Flames fans should want to take shots at the Oilers but a Flames GM who has done nothing but make an ass out of himself and show what an idiot he is should perhaps hold back on taking shots at the Oilers when his team is in a worse spot.
