1. Avalanche: Jones
2. Panthers: MacKinnon
3. Lightning: Drouin
4. Predators: Barkov
5. Hurricanes: Lindholm (extremely unfortunate for us, since I see them converting him to a winger)
6. Flames: Monahan
7. Oilers: Ristolainen
8. Sabres: Nichushkin
9. New Jersey: Shinkaruk
10. Dallas: Nurse

It's also gross knowing that Tampa Bay finished as bad as they did. They have Stamkos and St. Louis, two of the leading scorers in the league, along with Hedman and a good group of young talent.
Calgary has a far less impressive roster and we still finish higher. That's injustice for ya.

I think you might be right. In my mind the top 4 is as you stated. If Hurricanes don't take Lindholm they will take Nichushkin. But i think you are right and they will play Lindholm as a RW.
Does anybody know how much Lindholm played RW? TSN had him listed as a C/RW
Love getting Monahan. Type of player that wins playoff games. Also looking at blogs looks like a lot Oilers fans want Monahan.

I would love to see the #6 pick go to Monohan/Lindholm/Barkov as well, then move our 2 other 1st rounders up to the top 10 and pick Nurse.

Than Monahan it is. Take anyone the Oilers want to screw then.
Actually, if the Oilers like him, he will prob be a bust. Stay away.

It's the unfortunate side-effect of parity. A few points in the standings is a meaningless measuring device. Few SO wins or losses can now make a huge difference.

Haven't been paying too much attention, why does Carolina take the Russian with the KHL contract?
And the Flames other 1st rounders, assuming no trades, who gets picked? I'd like to see Dauphin picked with the StL pick.

The best thing about this draft is Calgary will finally have an opportunity to add some prospect depth at RW, C and D positions. 1st rounders in those positions will be invaluable, moving forward.

Nichushkin is going to fall out of the top 10.

Last year alot was said about Mark Jankowski being one of the youngest draft eligible players. I believe he missed out on being eligible for he 2013 NHL draft by 1 or 2 weeks.
Some on this board were saying it was like the Flames were securing a player who would be a top 10 draft pick in the 2013 draft by drafting him in 2012.
So I am curious, if Mark Jankowski was in this years NHL draft what draft position would he be ranked at?

Probably around the same, maybe lower. Much deeper draft this year.

I'm going to guess Nashville covets Lindholm (the Filip Forsberg connection) and can get him at #6. Calgary covets Barkov but needs to get him at #4. I can see Calgary trading the #6 and ? to move up two spots.
Just the way Feaster keeps clammering about "four elite players" makes me think they want Barkov. I'd much rather they go all out for MacKinnon if they are going to move up.
