The best part of today is that we will finally know where we are drafting. The last couple months i have found myself cheering against the flames to get as high of a draft pick as possible. Tonight i will no longer have to think about possibilities (Except trades).............finally some closure.

Looking forward to someone making this comparison if we end up picking him.

What do you guys think the Flames should do if they DO win the lottery tonight?
1. Take Seth Jones
2. Take Nathan MacKinnon
3. Try to trade with Florida or Colorado for #2 or #3 to take MacKinnon
4. Other

I think they should take Seth Jones

Milk COL or FLA for all they're worth and take MacKinnon and run far far away.

As soon as I made my last post I wanted to change it to this.

I agree with you.

Perfect, let some other team get Nurse.

I'm not worried about the Oilers taking Nurse, we've seen what a low priority Edmonton puts on medical staff.

Yep, because if the Flames wanted to trade up you know thats what would happen to us as well.

Hypothetical scenario time:

1. Flames stay at #6
2. Oilers call and offer #7 for Pittsburgh and St. Louis picks

MacKinnon, Jones, Drouin, Barkov and Nurse are the five guys off the board

Q#1 - Do you accept Edmonton offer?
Q#2 - If yes, who do you pick with #6 & #7?

Monohan, Lindholm?
Lindholm, Nichushkin?
Monohan, Nichushkin?

If we win the lottery, I say we just keep it and make our pick. We need Mackinnen. Panthers want him too so if we trade with the Avs, we'd have to "settle" for Drouin or Barkov

Mackinnen > Drouin/Barkov + #32 pick

Tempted by Nichushkin at this spot in the hypothetical. If reports are true sounds like the kid wants to play in North America, and wasn't happy with how he was "sold".

Take Monahan as your big, strong, Canadian center. Then to me it is a toss up between one of the two Europeans.

I think most (if not all) Flames fans would accept.

Who do you pick with the back to back picks?

Yes. Absolutely (I'd even add a sweetener). Then pick Monohan and Lindholm.

Take it and Mactavish gets fired before the draft.

That's kind of what I'm leaning towards with the hypothetical, as in do you take a gamble on Nichushkin in a spot like that?

I would absolutely offer Mactavish the St Louis and Pittsburgh picks for their 1st rounder. That's a no-brainer. You then take the 6th pick and flip it, along with a current roster player named Cammalleri/Glencross/Tanguay to whomever is drafting second.

Make it happen, Feaster.

Feaster said size and Center position are a must. Looks like Monahan will be dawning the flaming C next season.
