Brodie is a better defenseman than Luke Schenn. I would have even asked Brodie ahead of Giordano.
Hopefully he gets an opportunity.

Yeah it would be great for Brodie's development to play for Canada.

Too bad Kevin Lowe runs this thing, and uses Team Canada for his own personal gain. Which is why so many Oilers always get invited, and yet players for the Flames do not. It is not beneficial for him to allow Flames players to progress in any manner.

of that list, there is 1 natural LW, 2 natural RW, and 7 natural C's....
I expect Evander Kane gets a call, maybe Heatley?
Hall-Stamkos-Giroux
Kane-E.Staal-J.Staal
Eberle-Duchene-O'Reilly
Heatley-Read-Simmonds

Well the wild are currently in the playoffs......and Heatley is hurt so I don't see that happening.

Steve Yzerman is the executive director in charge of Team Canada, in fact I don't know if Lowe is involved at all but by all means don't let facts get in the way of slamming ....
Update: Doug Armstrong (Sarnia, Ont./St. Louis, NHL), Ken Holland (Vernon, B.C./Detroit, NHL), Kevin Lowe (Lachute, Que./Edmonton, NHL), Bob Nicholson (Penticton, B.C./Hockey Canada) and Brad Pascall (Coquitlam, B.C./Hockey Canada). Peter Chiarelli (Ottawa, Ont./Boston, NHL) will serve in an advisory capacity.

So you think Lowe doesn't deserve to get slammed?

Why is it that team canada always has too many elite centers and Calgary can't get one.

Oh my goodness, I'm all in favour of him being ousted out of Edmonton, but that's not what this thread is about. The person I quoted said Team Canada is run by Kevin Lowe thereby selecting Oiler players " ... for his own personal gain" while overlooking Flame players. I merely pointed out Steve Y. runs the team not Lowe so his statement is erroneous. Lowe is an advisor along with 5 others from different NHL teams.

Sven hurt his groin in St. Louis and won't be able to go to the WC. Sucks for him, would have been good to get more playing time in.

That is an ugly defense core compared to the forward group.

At least Lowe gets his players to accept invites to the Worlds. Despite his failings in pretty much all other areas, I like that he actively pushes for his guys to represent their country. . Seems like a lot of Flames have bailed on the event in years past.

i was talking with justin schultz's uncle and he has been invited to go play (justin, not his uncle ) . it sounds like the kid is super pumped to go play.

Good on Brodie for making it....will only help him for next year.
The reduction in minutes will be a nice relaxing change too.

Sucks that Duchene and O'Reilly have to miss the Vegas trip.
