Nuje, instead of abiding by sets of arbitrary rules, which I agree are woefully lacking in cogency, may I suggest utilizing the Ignore User function. I did a number of months ago and my experience on CP has become much more enjoyable.

That seems like a remarkably specific amount.

Did they decide it had to be 5 figures and then just pull the numbers out of the ball machine? It seems like such a sad waste of a ball machine sitting there never being used....

The fine was probably in euros (45,000 approx) and converted to pounds for the UK audience.

Punishing teams for fan conduct seems reminiscent of how junior high teachers used to give an entire class a detention because no one was "part of the solution." I suspect it'll be about as effective.

Yeah.... ok then. Four HUGE missed calls in a CL semi isn't a travesty? Of course it is. That they potentially wash each other out counts for nothing. Still four huge missed calls.

Yes. This happens often, as mentioned. Even with your golden boy Mr. Webb. He is not perfect you know. Far from it in fact. However, it is worth pointing out that you don't get so pissed off about the officiating if it benefits your own team.
See, there you go again. Mr Webb. Conspiracy theories. You just can't help it. That is why I mention Liverpool. Mention refs and all they can talk about is conspiracy theories and United. It's a form of insanity.

Simple thing is we're arguing inversely. If these calls had happened in a United game the conspiracies would be all over the map.
For the record I AM NOT calling a conspiracy, I am simply stating that the refereeing has been brutal so far this CL knockout stage and that either get the first world soccer nations in to ref OR scrap that silly rule where all 6 have to be from the same nation. It's that simple statement that has got everyone up in arms.

F-A-C-T of the matter is that it always has to come back to United and conspiracy theories is quite frankly disturbing. It really is. Think about it.

Or it's almost as if it's a no discussion topic when it's not United. But there you go again .... conspiracy theory.

What moral superiority am I claiming by stating that the reffing has been crap and it was time to ditch the 3rd soccer world refs or mix them up? Go on. The reffing HAS been subpar.

And spare me the more honest BS. A conspiracy theory is not equal to honesty no matter how much you believe it to be true. Well I suppose it is because one deludes oneself that they believe what they say.

Anyways FTR I want a Bayern Madrid final. And NBC .... lol just a joke.

It seems like everyone involved in the Lewandowski saga is saying something different.

I'll worry about it after he lifts the trophy in Wembly

I'll be consistent though; if he goes to Manchester United, I will be sure to vomit on some piece of Manchester United merchandise within the week.

Match day!

Real Madrid is certainly good enough to come back but here's hoping Dortmund can pot 1 or. 2 early

I make it a monthly routine. Preferably a supporter.

I'm far from comfortable going into this match.

Hopefully Lewa and co and pot a couple early to put my nerves at ease. This has the makings of a dramatic come back in my mind

This one really does. Barca are basically done and dusted because getting 5 at the Nou Camp, while do-able, isnt going to happen against Bayern.

3 against Dortmund at the Bernabeu however, isnt outside the realm of possibility.

That said, Real are going to have to watch their backs. If Dortmund get 1 in Spain then this is over. I dont think Real have 5 in them and I dont think Dortmund can fall apart that badly.

A smart game by Dortmund should see them through, especially because Real are desperate and have to score, that should open them up enough for the Dortmund counter-attack.

Are yellow cards carried over like in International play? If they are then why is Lewandowski starting?

EDIT: Nvm. Looks like he needs to get three.

Madrid with a 3-0 lead late and they look to be going through. Then Lewandowski strikes a stunning volley in the 93rd minute to put Dortmund into the CL finals.

That is my prediction.

My prediction is Real gets one early, step it up and get a second one before the half but Dortmund pot one in the 2nd and move on.

Or someone loses in spectacular fashion.

It would be just like the Germans after being lauded all week about becoming 'The best league in Europe' to find a way to lose and lose massively.

Agreed. One thing about German football is that they are fantastic at playing second fiddle.

I am in some ways looking forward to potential "Germans take over Europe" and "Germans march towards London" headlines from the Sun
