Game was pretty much what i suspected.

The part i found funny was, Feaster acting insulted that the flames would be somehow compared to the Oilers with the "oil change"comment. I got news for you Feaster, you compeltely "barfed" with your thoughts/judgement of how this veteran team would be this year. You also brought the flames down to the "laughing stock" area that the Oilers and Islanders occupy. Don't make yourself or the flames situation seem any better than any other crap team in the NHL. As far as i am concerned you are just as bad as the management team up North.

Good lord. I know Feaster's time with the Flames has been far from ideal, but his tenure ranks nowhere even close to how bad things have been in the Edmonton Oilers gong show.

The Blues are a big, physical team. They obviously felt that if they came out hard and played mean, the Flames, with nothing to play for, would roll over.

The Flames did not roll over - they played hard and gritty for 60 minutes.

Cammalleri was feisty. Cundari, Baertschi and Horak were all good.

I thought Giordano was an absolute beast - I think that guy we had at the beginning of the season has gone back to wherever he came from and the real Giordano has returned.

Did you follow his mishaps this year? They were Oilers territory mishaps. He is in no position to seem insulted. He should be thankful to have a job.

It's funny how Rod Langway is the all-time leading Taiwanese-born player.

Allow me to dream that Sven could convince Brunner to come to Calgary.

Not sure what this has to do with my post or why I have to say what the team could have done differently.

I don't think the team should have done anything differently and have said that before.

But that doesn't change the fact that it is more likely that the 3 are a much lower gamble than guys 4-8.

This statement is 109.456% false. A different type of gong show, but definitely equal or greater in size.

Yes, the Flames have been bottom if the league for 3 years, getting the #1 pick... Wait. No.

The Flames have gotten worse and more narrow-minded in their drafting... Oh wait, the've gotten better.

Hmmm. You've lost me. How is it equal?

As for your first comment... I just don't get your point. I am not worried about any other team besides the Flames... other teams are going to draft players, that happens every year. Everyone but the Flames in this group has a high draft pick already.. Edmonton, Tampa, Carolina, Colorado etc... these teams are just poorly managed and coached.

The Flames need a top pick yeah but if they do their job and are managed and coached properly I'm not worried about it. Edmonton has three first overall picks and are fighting for another... I'm not "worried" about it.
...as opposed to us? Edmonton is on a whole another level but I don't see how we're better managed/coached than Carolina; Tampa and Colorado need to fix their coaching and honestly does it take much to match the Feaster/Hartley combo? I don't think it does, actually I think Carolina and Tampa are our comparables right now.

I never once said opposed to us, never said we were better managed or coached.

Wow. Nino has 2 goals on 86 shots and projects to 4 points over a full 82 game season.

I was at Ramholt's game, saw Brent shorten the bench after one particularly bad gaffe.

Horak has left me a lot less optimistic this year, has looked out of his element here.

MacDonald is scary too. Not sure why he ends up on his keester and flailing so often. Has gotten better laterally but ends up on his ass too much and unable to position himself for rebounds.

Interesting to see Cammalleri scrap. Even though he held on for dear life and there was not a lot of throwing.

Good on Sven for keeping the streak going, and good on Backlund and Hudler on that play.

I like Cundari so far and tip my hat to Feaster for winning the Bouw trade.

Really love Giordano dropping to block the shot in a 4-1 game with 3:00 left, both meaningless in the standings (as far as the players are concerned) and on the ice at that point.

I haven't loved his play this year but he's been a lot better lately and tonight was a great effort from him.

So long as there are Oilers, there will ALWAYS be a position to hurl insults. Again, the apparent ineptitude from the Flames management in the past year utterly pales in comparison to the past six-years of Oilers follies.

The Mactavish GM press conference alone was more of a debacle than anything Feaster has done this year.

I actually liked Feasters reaction to the oil change comment. I though it was hilarious for all the right reasons. Exactly the way I want a Calgary GM to react when somebody compares them to the Oilers.

I actually haven't seen it myself. Is there a link to it somewhere? Was it on SN or on the FAN?

I agree. Based on kyuss275's description above, that is exactly how all Flames management should react to comparisons with the Oilers.
