I would like to see where those Pittsburgh and StL picks end up being before saying it's a bad idea to trade them. If they're both in the low 20's I could live with them being packaged for a young, established center.

I perceive it differently. I don't think they move one of the other picks unless they can grab a player like Berglund, Stepan or something in that line. 25 or younger and a good proven NHL talent.

In a non cap world, I agree. However, part that is the most important is the value you get out of entry level contracts. If you're paying a 22 year old 6 million, or a 31 year old ufa 6 million, what's the difference other than the 22 year old will cost you an arm and a leg?

We don't have a ton of assets, so wasting them in acquiring a young RFA guy is somewhat poor asset management. If you keep the picks and fill the spot you're trying to fill with a stop gap (Filppula or Bozak) instead, you'll be further ahead once those picks develop, as you'll have a veteran asset to trade and the young guys coming in.

I really don't see why Cammy wouldn't wear the flaming C next year. I think he's the perfect candidate. Lovin feisty Cammy.

I might just purchase a Baertschi jersey before the start of our next season.

So glad to see Sven having a positive end to this season after all the setbacks. Sets him up well for next season I think.
